Animal Logic Mayaman 2.0.9c For Maya 2008

MayaMan is a plug-in which allows Maya users to render their scenes
with RenderMan compliant renderers, such as Pixar’s photorealistic
RenderMan (PRman), AIR from SiTex and 3Delight

    I’ve always been at a loss with the purpose of this app.

    I’ve downloaded it several times over the years and still have yet to use it.

    I mean doesn’t RenderMan already work with Maya?

    …?

    Someday I’ll read up on it and see what it’s actually good for.

    I guess it’s a renderfarm thing…

    Okay I just looked at their website and sheesh this bugs me.

    Why can’t developers who make 3rd party renderers make one that supports ALL the features that the default scanline can render? It just seems so retarded.

    I need to render my scenes 3 times (2 seperate times for volumetric effects and once for geometry) just so I can rework it and combine it in a compositing app…

    Sorry. I don’t mean to go on a diatribe here of all places. Thanks for sharing!

    i test in linux 64 bit with phenom 9850 black and 8 Gig Ram
    and work

    for multiprosesor use linux in windows not support renderman multiprosesor

    How did you install Renderman under Linux??? I tried to install it under Fedora 7 and 9 x86_64, but couldn’t get it to work properly. A how-to would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
