Does this work on Windows? Because I installed it and it does not seem to work. Or is this linked version just for Unix\Linux?

That's not correct, it's not old, this release is
The current (stable) release is V3R6, beta is R7. The interface is ugly because it was developed primarily in SGI Irix, then ported to Linux, and Windows (with an included X-Server by SCO (yes, the same SCO from the IBM lawsuit)).
And as far as matchmoving apps, this is by far the most advanced matchmover in the market, gives you total control of every aspect of the process, total. What this means however, is that it's not a "click & autotrack > export" solution, it's meant to deal with high res footage, fast (via proxies, altough you can deal with 2K and 4K footage as long as you have fast arrays to keep the sustained DDRs).
Supports stereoscopic matchmoving, camera and object groups, object extraction, motion extraction, multiple camera groups for solution refinement, etc...
The only remotely app remotely close to this, is Pixelfarm's PFTrack, which has the added bonus of optical flow (z-depth extraction, motion vectors, etc... which is slow obviously :)), but other than that, 3Deq is for quite some time, one of the best guarded "secrets" of the trade, and by far the most powerful matchmover in the market - so far that is...
You can download a Personal Learning Edition version at their site, an V3R6 if my memory serves me right - it's limited in resolution, has a watermark, etc...
And btw, this is a fast app, i mean fast (specially if you're on Linux).

maaan this prog is old...........
Try this one.......
it's way better - http://www.ssontech.com/synovu.htm
App is called syntheyes and it's alot easier, Not so complicated to run or install
"3D equilizer" is worse than city engine to install.........
Besides, it was written in 1998,
