OK guys for people who can’t access to face robot and the pick button can’t show, this the way how you solve that,

Step one: open the plugin and manager, in the tree menu expand the little plus in the C:, then expand views you will a bunch of icones of face robot, this is were the problem, to solve that right click on the first icone example : facestage1_sideview then edit you will have a script pop up, what guys you will do next, is to change the extension of the url that you with the second one that you have in your folder face robot in application, you will bunch of html files so what you wll do you copy the new one that the name is like that facestage1_sideview and not sideframe because the script it said frame so each of the icon you changed with the name that you have just copy and past and save your script and when you launch your xsi , you well find your pick button ect.

your face robot will rock:)

I am having a problem that I cannot seem to overcome. When selecting the parts, as soon as I select the first part, the head for example, the whole model disappears! I have tried several models from Daz, also from Lightwave, same thing happens even though I re-worked all models to close holes etc. It works fine however with the supplied models. Anyone else run into this?

Thanks much...

I think I have cracked it O___O

but I'm not sure because It crashed in my computer because is bad =(

All time I start facerobot say: Sucessfully saved scene before system failure. Restart the application to recover the scene. <-- if that is normal in bad computers, I think I have cracked it because when I start it it don't ask anything =)

HI friends , very good program but it freezes even with the tip of face bot master. I need help to solve an issue about facial animation and motion capture and i hope you can help me Face Bot Master or anyone here. we all now that we can use .c3d file which are motion capture files to apply them to the face in face robot. but in order to create a .c3d file or motion capture data we have to have a motion capture equipment with those special cameras, but it is too expensive. on the other hand there are few programs that you can create facial motion capture by recording videos with cameras in MOVIMENTO for example or with just one camera in ZIGN TRACK. from what i`ve seen in video tutorials these programs are awesome . for me ZIGN TRACK would be more affordable because you only need one camera and can be a simple dv cam. with movimento you need 3 or 4 cameras. once the programs analized the video ( your face with dots all over in different positions to create track motion) you can export the data as .TRC file which is a marker data and you can import the file into 3d max. i´ve imported the example that comes with movimento and what you see are a group of spheres shaping the face of the video and the animation of these spheres or markers are exacting the same as the man in the video in movimento. My question is how to attach these markers , these data, these motion capture objects to a face in 3d s max. i hope you can help me because im planning to buy a camera to use zign track but i cant buy it until i know how to make these animated markers(spheres moving exactly like the video in movimento) being part of a face and make the 3d face move in 3ds max. thanks for your help.

Hi, I understand what you mean now ..you need to use the XSI animation Plot Menu . which has the pc2 export.
Whats nice about my method is that you can fully rig the face with a single morpher and then create other channels for things like Phonemes "MouthA, MouthF...etc. point cache requires you to use a 3rd program and the flexibilty for use in 3dsmax is non existance. After you set up a morpher system you can then easily add Voice-O-matic to the Head and make it talk. then make a few expression channels by combining other morph channels and give the model the expressions you like in realtime wile scrubbing the voice sequence timeline... I would like to thank you for showing me that point oven can be bypassed by using XSI export..

Point Oven is one way. Crosswalk is not working. Not sure why after two updates to Crosswalk in the last month they have not got it working with FR. Perhaps there is some work flow privy to people who can go to their forum wiki.

Also there is an update to FR that is not available here yet if ever. Perhaps the latest version of FR works with crosswalk. I saw the FR update in the downloads section of Softimage. Looks like they moved it cause its not there now.

Ok but pointoven cost $100 ... or $1000 for a site license.
No cracked version of poinOven has ever been released ..
So for a website like this your suggestion is not going to help anybody except for pointoven owners. Crosswalk does not work properly . have you any other ideas to get FR back into 3dsmax without PointOven?

Until then the morpher modifier is a very simple solution. its fast . and it works perfectly

Face Bot Master thanks for charing but FR is not used for that (too match work for an intersting softaware ) you can use it in matche smooter way.
export ur animation from FR as an MDD format (using point Oven exporter) and of cors ur Model as An OBJ format .
Then Import ur MDD Format from XSI Then export it as pc2 format.
From 3ds max import ur obj and apply a pointcache modifier and then from there importe the PC2 animation, et voila, you have ur animation ready to use.
tested and warks fine for mee i think it will wark for every one.
Hapy animation.

Morpher With Max.

OOps "Use" not You.

import 3 head obj's into Max

Apply a morpher Modifier to the 1st head with the closed mouth.
Now Click on the morpher panel "Capture Current State"
In the Small window that says "Captured" in the field Type mouth or anything you like to name the channel.
Next Step. Click the "Pick Object From Scene" button and Choose the Second object "mouth half way open".. Click
"Pick Object From Scene" once again and pick the 3rd object of the mouth fully open . Thats is you are done . Slide the Channel to see the First object morhp to the mouth opening fully.
Notice your channel is green. this means that object 2 and 3 still exist. delete these 2 objects to bake the morph into the first object. notice the Color blue next to your channel.. now the info is baked into the morpher and you are ready to load the next 2 object for the next face part... Why 2 and not 3 ..because you already have the face in its zero position.... Now Click on the morpher panel "Capture Current State" and name your new channel "nose Twitch" if you animated the nose for example .. now Click the "Pick Object From Scene" button and chose the first object then Click the "Pick Object From Scene" button again for the second nose object .. delete them to bake and wala you now have 2 channels working to move the mouth and nose.. follow these same steps for more channels
.. I hope this helps

Hi, to keep facerobot from freezing constantly And Saving Working face in Max.

it usually freezez when you leave the app to go to a different window.. when you comeback its frozen . Here is a trick I figured out . open an export or import window before leaving facerobot. this window will keep it from freezing when you come back to facerobot just close the export dialog window.
Best way to Export to 3dsmax is make 3 frame animation of lets say the mouth opening.. save this as 3 OBJ files . import to into max and you a morpher object and 1 channel for the mouth . then apply each at 0 - 50 - 100 %

Now you have a perfect mouth tool. do the same with all the face parts and keep adding it to a morph channel "zero pose the face each time" .. This will give you full control over the face using sliders for each part. ALWAYS USE the GURUWARE OBJ Import/Export
for max its free. Also when ever you export an obj to use in Facerobot Export it using the pre-defined "Blender" option .

Tom and Harry,
Ff you can not see the Select / Transform / Constrain menus on the right then maybe you have the screen fully open, Look to the far right like where the scroll bar would be in a browser.. Then look for the greyish rouned rectangles shapes I mentioned (around the center of the screen on the right) Like center of a scroll bar sort of.. Click to Expand... Failing that post a screen shot and I 'll see if I can help..

What I mean is that I cannot see the "Pick objects" button in the right hand side of the UI. There are "Library", "Tools" menu but no "Type" or the mentioned button as the "scan" button.
What should I do to make it displayed ?
