Trying to install x64 for windows (7) installs fine but every key I generate for the license is invalid, also for some reason I can’t replace the sesinetd file in system 32, says i need permission and that other programs are open using it even though there aren’t and I’m have administrative rights etc. Please help this is rather annoying. For now I’m using non-com but I need the full.

step by step
1. uninstall older version and also delete “sesi” folder (/Library/Preferences/sesi).
2. /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin ………..in this folder delete “sesinetd” and now you can drop
the cracked “sesinetd” inside the same folder.
3. Open up a terminal window;
drag the sesinetd file in the terminal window……..
sudo chmod +w /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd ……..press ENTER
****Since you are using the “sudo” command it will ask for an admin password***********
sudo chmod +r /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd….press ENTER
sudo chmod +x /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd……..press ENTER……..

4. You need to RESTART your machine at this point. This is very important.… After the restart…. Empty the trash… then…
5. Open the License Administrator.app (inside the installed Houdini folder / administrative tools)
Also open the keygen.exe ( h10.exe inside crack folder) (you can use the Darwine app to open .exe files inside mac os x or open it in a pc)
6. Type your server name and server code. (You can find it at the License Administrator app. “License server host” and “License server code” inside the “Server Information” Tab)
Server name = license server host server code = Server code
7. In License Administrator go **File – Manually Enter Keys…** Enter the keys that you generate in the keygen one at a time…….

8. ENJOY…………….

****UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION****

0) Please ignore the instructions in the file that comes in the crack directory

1) First, IF you have any older version of houdini, uninstall it. The Versions will conflict with each other. Also uninstall the “sesi” folder (/Library/Preferences/sesi).

Install Houdini 10. But don’t open that yet.

Go to:
/Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin

And put the sesinetd in the trash. It will ask to authenticate, so type your password.

Now you can drop the cracked sesinetd inside the same folder:

/Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin

It will ask again to authenticate, so type your password one more time.

2) Open up a terminal window (The terminal .app is located in the utilities folder)

type (you don’t have to type out the path to the sesinetd file, you can drag the file into the terminal window)
sudo chmod +w /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd
(press enter) ****Since you are using the “sudo” command it will ask for an admin password****
sudo chmod +r /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd
(enter)

****explanation****
When you do those three chmod in the sesinetd, it says to the computer that:

chmod +w (this can be writable)
chmod +r (this can readable)
chmod +x (this can be executable)

Guys, just find out that the same MAC osx crack works on the last apprentice built 10.0.456.
This version remove the flickering of the screen on macbook pro and there are all the menu on the finder (file edit …)

a few minutes after posting for help it occurs to me how chmod operations work.Python’s instructions were correct WITH ONE EXCEPTION

the lines should refer to sesinetd not sbin…so the lines should read like this
(this also works for 9.5)
chmod +w /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd

now this “sesinetd” you are referring to should be the cracked one you used to replace the original(note once again as python said you cant stop the license server..which reads like “sesinetd” in activity monitor…what you do is delete original and copy-paste the cracked one into the sbin folder)

NB:in unix based commands when you typed the chmod line and press enter and nothing happens then its a good thing(as opposed to what king said).thats just how unix based commands work.

so to recap ,type
chmod +w /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd
chmod +r /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd
chmod +x /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/10.0.249.3/Resources/houdini/sbin/sesinetd

AND restart everything should be fine now and you should now see your server code as the license server is now up and running.

use boot camp to run keygen and copy paste line for line .
here comes the dumb part .once you put in licenses 2 to 5 it will give you an error(at least in my case ).
1.quit license admin.
2.restart your mac.
3.open license admin.

if you notice that the license are added under the installed licenses tab then you are set.

if it doesnt happen like this for you do as python said uninstall (may be even restart) .install again;delete original sesinetd;copy-paste cracked sesinetd;open terminal or houdini shell terminal in houdini application folder;type chmod operations in reference to sesinetd as shown above.

RESTART;open license admin;go to server information tab;use host name and server code shown here in the keygen;
NB:YOU MAY NEED BOOTCAMP OR VMWARE FUSION OR PARALLELS DESKTOP OR A PC.because the keygen is .exe.

in license admin>file>Manually enter keys
copy paste the serials you got from the keygen.
there is a chance you’ll get an error for lines 2 to 5 that’s okay quit license admin.RESTART. if it isn’t patched redo everything and keep generating keys till they pick (although i haven’t tried the latter).

i sincerely hope my adhoc method helped coz in my case when it gave the error quitting and restarting my machine ..the licenses took.

my problem reads like this
1.on a mac leopard ,the license server won’t stop so i did what you guys said i deleted sseintd and replaced with the crack.
2.i opened terminal and typed the chmod operations.
3.i restarted but the cracked sseintd doesn’t pick
4.because of that i don’t see server code so i can’t crack
5.so where am i going wrong?

Hi im using Houdini version in Leopard,this version have no menus,but theres a flicker and the flipbook dosent work,can i fixed or i have to wait a new houdini version or Leopard version.

For MAC users note that this version of Houdini will have no menus. There was a problem with this release. SideFX has released newer versions which address the menus not showing in Houdini under OSX Snow Leopard. If anyone gets their hands on one of the newer versions please post.

Sorry for multiple post but wanted to be sure this was seen by all the MAC heads….

MAC folks here is how you enter the license keys for those having problems. With this version of the License Administrator most of you are not seeing the File Menu. In this instance go to the folder the Houdini 10.0.249.3 Folder, double click on the Houdini Shell Terminal icon to launch the shell.

Once in the shell take each line that was generated by the keygen and paste it after this command.

sesictrl -I and press

do this for each one of the key strings. This is how you enter the keys manually on the command line. This works perfectly and I have tested it many times.

This is your MAC OSX solution for entering keys. Enjoy!!!

i’m trying it on Ubuntu jaunty..
I have had no luck either….Houdini installs ok but the License servers fucks up on me..
When i try to stop the license server using both of these:
/etc/init.d/sesinetd stop or sesictrl -q
i get a “fail” message. it wont just stop!

So I just deleted the sesinetd file from user/lib/sesi folder and replaced it with the cracked one..
I restart the machine and go to License Administrater but the fucking window doesnt show up..I’m just too pissed and frustrated with this..
Could anyone throw out some pointers??

I’m having the same problem as a lot of other mac users. I’m running on Snow Leopard and when I run the License Administrator and there is no File menu at the top! It won’t let me do anything with it! I followed all of the instructions correctly, and this is just making me mad. Please tell me how to fix this problem.

Hi everyone!
At first I got the same licensing error for the 2-5 keys on my 64 bit Windows 7.
The strange thing I found that I didn’t have to overwrite sesinetd.exe in the system32 folder.
I can simply copied the file into system32 dir.
So I uninstall the software.
Then it was strange, that the sesinetd.exe remained in the system32.exe.
I deleted it, then reinstall Houdini.
Then again I haven’t found sesinetd.exe in the system32 diresctory, and on the whole C: drive.
But I can see running it in the task manager and in the command line column I saw that it indeed running as c:\windows\system32\sesinetd.exe file.
I tried to find it with explorer, with far manager. Even if my settings set to show hidden and system file I couldn’t found anything.
At that pont I dedided to reboot my machine from another drive booting my old windows XP.
Yes, the file was there.
I simply rename the original to sesinetd.exe_ and copy the new one from the crack.
After reboot the windows 7 64 bit. I can’t find neither the old and the new sesinetd.exe files, but starting the Houdini License administrator the previously enetered keys wher there and fully functioning (three different set for the first four licence type, from my three previous trying).
After that I installing the remaining keys without any problem.
And right now houdini master is running on my Windows 7 64 bit system.
Obviously there’s a method hiding files in win7, and somehow even if I copied the cracked seinetd.exe, the service that i started was the original sesinetd.exe (I just don’t understand how can be two file with the same name in the same folder), if someone find a solution how can these files can be aacessible from win7 u don’t have to boot into other OS.
I don’t know if this method is working on vista 64 bit or not, I haven’t used it.
Hope my experience can help others installing the keys.

Works on mac. I guess the restart is important to allow licensing to accept the generated keys. I had tried this several times before and it would always error when entering the licenes. Runs great now!

Hey guys, I have question with the installing for mac os x. I have done everything up to restarting computer but for some reason the license administrator cannot connect to my laptop local. I am new to mac, so this matter kinda perplexed me. Is there anything that I should shut or disable ?
