I installed renderman but everytime I i try to load the plugin, maya shuts down immediately. Why is that? I think it may be looking for a licence, but I dont see any batch key. How do I get this to work. Please someone help.

i felt the same problem on xp 32 when i want to load RM immediately shuts down maya … the patch writes “nothing patched”

As of about 2 weeks ago this patch / crack has stopped functioning.
In order for this to work you have to turn your clock back to 2009.

Everything works fine!
You shoud turn off user account control on yours Windows 7 or Vista.

After thay Windows allows you to patch the file.
You don’t need to put the patch file in any directory, just click PATCH,
and thats all)
if it still won’t work you can put the rfm301m2k9Win_x86v2.exe file into folder where
the RenderMan_for_Maya.mll file is. And patch it there.
The destination shoud be C:Program Files/Pixar/RenderManForMayaEval-3.0.1-maya2009/plug-ins

you should also change the data on your Windows from 2010 to 2009. the term of the working version begins roughly in summer 2009 and expires in summer 2010.
somebodycool your right i have the same problem when i load renderman maya just close up but i changed the date of my computer to 2009 now i don’t have any problem with renderman
GUYS YOU NEED TO TURN OFF THE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS, otherwise you will be frustrated like me for hours… no need to worry about what folder to drop the patch… it’s just another crappy vista issue about read/write authorization….
