   Disapointed – again new SDK API and all 2012 plugins invalidated. New features not so interesting actually. Perhaps some old bugs are fixed but sure even more more bugs have come. I am not going to update my 2012 version at the moment. Perhaps I will update next year with Max 2014… unless they change SDK again. I am bored with this nonsens of breaking entire production system just to get one or two (often bogus) “new features”.

     Why not? There is no relation and no conflict between theme.

       In the past there were possible problems of overwriting files in “common files” folder, causing older versions to have problems.

         Really? I didn’t know that?
         Actually I had installed the 2012 and 2011 side-by-side an I had no problems!
         Anyway, I believe that there is not going to be problem with 2012 and 2013 and as soon as I download 2013, I’m going to install it beside 2012 and then I’ll let you know about it.(You know I need 2012 for plugins).

           I need 2012 for plugins too, and at the same time I’d like to test CivilView 2013 vith Civil 3D 2013 and direct linking of Revit 2013 rvt files inside MAX Des 2013.

    this file does not exist in the folder.installation failed !

    Thank you “velocityx” it worked for me, after editing “services” file located at [C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] (run notepad as admin) the installation continued normally but still download “dot net framework 3,5″ maybe my “3dsmax design” folder has some files missing because “3ds max 2013″ installation work smoothly fine but not “design”. By the way, my windows is version 8 (enterprise 64bit)
