Service pack 2, Build 5:

Many issues fixed, some improvements here and there and now the installer works for both 64 and 32 bit systems. Overall stability is improved and we fixed all the issues we could find. Some people had issues with the activation which should also be resolved with this update. We advise everyone to start using this version.

One big change is the removal of the speed effect and begin/end effect. These have been replaced by a speed control inside the camera path editor.

There are many changes all over to improve usability, stability and output quality. We also made some minor changes to the user interface to make Lumion easier to understand.

If you are looking for a 64 bit version then look no further because starting with this version we automatically install the 64 bit version whenever possible.

Mari was developed by a New Zealand company Weta Digital, which used to create films like District 9, The Lovely Bones and Avatar. Mari is intended only for texturing 3D-models. Tracking
mocha is a stand alone 2D tracking tool packed with features that make the life of the effects compositing artist easier and less stressful. Composite Preview
mocha allows you to import a single frame or clip and place it within a defined domain to preview your insert.

Bezier and X-Spline tools
mocha offers several ways of shaping your splines. In addition to Bezier and X Splines, mocha offers Shake-style tangent control if you prefer.

Track or Spline based Motion Blur
mocha can generate motion blur in two ways. If you are tracking a moving object, mocha can create motion blur based on that motion vector. If that doesn’t do the trick, mocha can also generate motion blur based on your spline deformations.

Effortless Spline Transformations
mocha provides an intuitive way to move, rotate and scale your splines around, should they need some manual tweaking. Live anchor points mean you rotate and scale from wherever you click. Elegant overlays give you easy to read delta feedback.

Infinite Edge Control
Pull out feathers point by point. Move feather edges and control points together or separately. Join points from separate splines together. Serious point control in mocha.

Roto Preview
mocha allows you to import a single frame or clip as a background to preview behind your roto’ed foreground object.

Fewer Keyframes
Powered by the Planar Tracker, your splines will no longer need so many keyframes. Ben Grossman of The Syndicate reported a traditionally rotoscoped 88 keyframe shot needing only 4 in mocha. Less keyframes= tighter tracks, less work.

Export Shapes and Mattes
mocha will slip right in to your pipeline- offering renders in nearly every industry standard File format (Cineon, DPX, TIFF, Targa, QuickTime etc.) and shape export for Flame/Flint/Inferno, Shake and Combustion. mocha v1.5 adds export support in the mocha shape format for both After Effects and Final Cut.

Editable Anchor Points
The anchor point allows you to place and rotate an object or component in the 3D scene. Grab this point in the 2D view by pressing the “D” key, and simply drag it to the desired location.

Media Search Function
When opening a file, Artlantis 3 allows you to search for and replace any missing media components on your hard drive, as well as delete them.

Transparency of Billboards and Plants

Taught by Eran Dinur, this course offers a comprehensive approach to learning Vue, with an emphasis on workflow
and techniques needed for effectively using it in various professional production scenarios.

Vue has gained a prominent position in the industry as a tool for creating rich and detailed 3D natural scenery
and there’s an ever-growing demand for competent Vue artists.

We will first cover all of the main aspects of Vue – the different atmospheric models, polygonal and procedural terrains,
EcoSystems, animation, materials and plant editing, and then dig deeper into more complex areas such as fractal functions
and multi-layered shaders. Keeping in mind the needs of matte painting and compositing, we will also explore Vue’s extensive
multi-pass rendering, matte generation and export options.

Class 1: Introduction to Vue
- We will look at some of the strengths and unique capabilities of Vue. Then we’ll build a simple scene,
which will allow us to get familiar with the interface and various editors.

Class 2: Plants and EcoSystems
- After examining Vue’s SolidGrowth plants, We’ll take a close look at Vue’s fantastic distribution system.
We’ll explore the different approaches to setting up EcoSystems, from free-hand painting to defining distribution
and interaction rules.

Class 3: Atmosphere and lighting
- Mastering the atmospheric models in Vue is essential for achieving good looking renders.
We will devote most of the class to the Spectral atmosphere and volumetric clouds,
and will also take a short look at the standard model and environment mapping.

Class 4: Terrains
- We’ll go through the different terrain types (height field, procedural, large scale and infinite),
and explore terrain hand-sculpting and erosion techniques, as well as basic function editing,
and spherical terrains.

Class 5: Materials and natural distribution
- We will create textured and procedural materials and layer them using natural distribution rules.
We will also create water material and explore transparency, refraction and murkiness.

Class 6: The function Editor
- In this class we will dig deep inside Vue’s powerful node-based function editor,
and learn how to create elaborate terrains and materials using fractal algorithms and filters.

Class 7: Animation
- Importing cameras from external applications, camera and object animation,
animating atmospheres and clouds, wind animation and ventilators,
animating water materials and terrains.

Class 8: Rendering and exporting
- Vue has an extensive multi-pass rendering system, and we’ll take a close look at the various passes
and their potential usage.
We’ll also look at render quality configurations, as well as object and material export options.

Class 9: Advanced Techniques 1
- Displacement, sub-surface scattering, Hyper textures and camera projection mapping.

Class 10: Advanced Techniques 2
- More lighting, terrain, material, plants and EcoSystem techniques.

System Requirements for Unity Authoring
Windows: XP SP2 or later; Mac OS X: Intel CPU & “Leopard” 10.5 or later. Note that Unity was not tested on server versions of Windows and OS X.
Graphics card with 64 MB of VRAM and pixel shaders or 4 texture units. Any card made in this millennium should work.
Using Occlusion Culling requires GPU with Occlusion Query support (some Intel GPUs do not support that).

Install win
Instructions:
1. Download Unity 3.1 and activate with a free “Indie Licence” (you can select Internet Activation).
2. Download the patch and extract it from the zipped archive (um3_b94.exe)
3. Start um3_b94.exe – it will sit in your system tray. (it can be run from any directory)
4. Start unity3d as normal, or from Monodevelop – it should come up in “Pro” mode. (Dark Grey GUI)
Patched to -> Unity Pro, Asset Server and Android Advanced (Android Advanced needs Registered Android SDK from Google)
With Unity running …Go to Help>About Unity…bottom right corner of pop-up window shows you what is currently licensed.

*note: If you had a previous installation of Unity (even if you uninstalled it) and you don’t see the option to load the Bootcamp Demo in Unity 3.1 on start-up,

you can find it in the following Directory (it’s a installation glitch)

Boomer Labs SuperMesher For 3DsMax 2009 – 2011 32Bit & 64 Bit

SuperMesher is a 3DSMax plugin that allows you to cache animated geometry regardless of its topology and number of objects including pFlow particles. The cache is baked out to a separate file which can be loaded into any version of MAX 2009 or higher. No reference is held to the original objects so they can be deleted or modified without consequence. Because the result is one single mesh, SuperMesher automatically generates appropriate material IDs and Multi-Sub materials.

The plugin is available in both 32bit and 64bit versions of 3ds MAX from R9 to 2011.

SuperMesher is an indispensable production tool. Once you’ve used it in your project, you’ll wonder how you managed without it!.

How is Supermesher useful?
SuperMesher has many unique uses that enhance the production pipeline. Here are a few examples.

Performance: Cache a complex and slow rig into a lightning fast and scrubbable sequence. Duplicate and offset the same cache for lots of variety with low overhead.

Compatibility: Load a SuperMesher cache file (.bmf) into any version of 3DSMax. Alternatively, load an OBJ sequence generated in another application such as Maya or Houdini. The OBJ sequence will be converted into a .bmf file for fast efficient playback inside 3DSMax.

Workflow: Cache complex effects into single meshes to simplify render scenes. If you’re working on multiple shots, load fast caches into each shot instead of hundreds of interdependent objects and slow rigs. This makes for clean, fast render files.

Problem solving: Keep adding modifiers to SuperMesher caches – including world space modifiers. When you’re happy with the look, collapse the stack again. All the animation will remain. You can even cache other SuperMesher meshes.

Retiming: Need to re-time or reverse an animation? With SuperMesher, you can easily animate time directly from the trackview.

Rendering: Because SuperMesher provides a free loader plugin, anybody can load or render SuperMesher files. If you’ve used commercial geometry plugins and need to render offsite, just cache all your render scenes and provide a copy of the free SuperMesher reader to the offsite renderfarm.

Protection: Provide your work to others without giving them the actual mesh.
