Everytime I get ot step 17. Install redshift_v3.5.19_setup.exe the setup won’t start and I get a pop up saying “CreateToolhelp32snapshot” like this https://i.imgur.com/ZK5MLqY.png.
How to fix this issue?
The file “RedStar_3519.xdl64” was flagged and on virustotal.com 35 of 71 scanners sounded the alarm.
It sounds too good to be true that Redshift should be able to run completely with Cinema 4D (i.e. CPU & GPU) in a reasonably up-to-date version, but I’m afraid this is a honeypot to push a Trojan or ransomware on normal users.
plenty of people on forum have this installed and working
1. Install Cinema4D_2023.2.2_Win.exe in any folder
2. Go to the folder where you installed blue, delete the Redshift folder
3. In the same folder, go to the corelibs folder, drop the file c4dplugin.xdl64 there with replacement
4. Remove the old Maxon_app (If it was installed before):
4.1 Uninstall Maxon App via Control Panel, Programs and Features
4.2 Stop the Red Giant Service and mxredirect services, turn off the MxNotify process, delete the following folders, if any:
4.3 After removal, install Maxon_App_2023.1.0_Win.exe
5. Log out of your Maxon account
6. Register a new mail at
