Autodesk has released a Service Pack for Max 2009 that fixes a number of issues.
Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 Service Pack 1 includes a number of fixes for Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 across several functional areas, including Biped, Customer Error Reports (CER), Custom Attributes, Edit Normal Modifier, FBX\Revit® Shaders , Hair, Inverse Kinematics, Materials, Network/Command Line Rendering, Particles, Performance, Render Elements, Render to Texture, Revit Import, SDK, Spline Mapping, SteeringWheels™, ViewCube™, Viewport and XRefs.

I installed the service pack, I noticed Max then connected to the Internet next time I ran it. Then said my license was in error. Keygen wouldn’t fix it, and I had to recover an earlier Acronis backup of the OS I had made for times like this. Now I make sure my (free) Comodo firewall blocks all Max Internet access (not sure what will happen when I need to use backburner though). Is there an updated keygen?

i saw before max try to access to internet at run :/ but don’t know for what
i blocked all incoming request for internet access of max with COMODO
but if you could find max try to connect to what ip and what port to blocking that connection and use port connection for other plugins like cebas and DCP

Thanks for this post… uff, I was almost dead, trying to render in 3ds max using Vue sXtream… this service pack is really necesary for it…
