  2. Hi ironman, do you have any vray for cinema4d tutorial??? I don’t find it anywhere.. please help me :)

  3. If this works, you guys are gods. Been waiting a long time for this one!

  4. Hey guys for me it doesn’t work!
    Crash on all operation…assign V-Ray material, rendering…
    I have SnowLeopard 10.6.8 and Maya 2012 Hotfix 4…

  5. perfect timing! I need to start on somemething with vray tomorrow :D

  6. Hm maybe stupid Question, but how do i install vray for maya 2011 on Macos. I cant figure out. I’ve downloaded the .pgk for maya 2011 and installed it on default settings. After installing i’ve got a new chaosgroup folder with vray stuff in it. I started Maya and wanted to load the plug in with the plug in manager but there was no vray :/
    What did i wrong ?!

    Thanks

    • you need to go to window>settings/preferences>plug-in manager to select v-ray in the list (you should have this “application/autodesk/maya2012/maya.app/contents/vray/plug-ins”) and check “loaded” and “auto load”

  7. Sorry to say these are of No use as they are crashing Maya.
Ironboy do you read this :(

  10. It works on my laptop mac SL 10.6.8 and maya 2012 x64.
Thanks Kenshin as I gave up trying to install in my 10.5.8 Mac and thought this is of no use. Your input helped me to try in my laptop, which would help me to learn and buy this neat piece of renderer.
    Thanks to Ironboy as well.

    Macker.

go here for how to install and validate Maya 2012 on LION! without Snow Leopard for those of you who have updated!

  12. Thank you very much!
Works so far on my MacPro with SnowLeopard 10.6.8 and Maya 2012 (no hotfix).
I have a problem with saving out a single EXR from Vray Frame Buffer, no dialog for choosing file format shows when i push the save button, does anyone else has this problem? My workaround now is to batch render out a single frame.

    • check the tmp folder inside the images folder, u will find the .exr format there!!

  13. if it crashes, check if you have maxwell plugin loaded, if you do then you’ll have to unload it cause it creates conflict with vray plugin. restart to be sure without autoload on the maxwell plugin and with vray loaded, it will work, at least this was my case.
