Note:

1. Extract files to C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Mudbox2009/help/ (assumed you installed mudbox on drive C. Adjust path if necessary)
2. Open Mudbox, go to menu Windows – Preferences – User Interfaces.
3. Set option Get Help From: Local Machine/Network, adjust path if necessary.
4. Now you can access help files faster.

  15. Is Mudbox crashing on anyone else? The 64x version installs and loads fine. Then if you load one of the starting meshes and then rotate around it, once done rotating it just crashes. Or right after you don’t change the view and just do a simple stroke, crashes. Weird: 64x, core 2 duo, quadro 1700.

  16. Gregg, works fine here im running Xp64 not vista. And have a mac pro with two 2.8 quadcore and 12 gb ram, 8800gt. I used to have a quadro 3400 in my old workstation so i dont think its that but if your using vista it could be that.

    I’m using the same one downloaded from here, X64 version on Xp X64 edition. Played around with it for a few hours, and hasn’t crashed once. Been working out quite well for me. Also got the same proc type as you. Yet my gpu is an nvidia geforce 8800 instead of a quadro. Maybe the quardro is causing the crashing?
    Hope you’re able to fix your problem

  27. Mine is crashing as well. I have vista 64bit 8 core quadro 3700 it crashes after I use a prexisting mesh.

  28. Incredibly stable on my pc. manage to scale it up to 8.2 million is 32 bit with just 2 gb of ddr ram with silky smooth 40 fps with depth of field and tone mapping turned on.

  29. Gregg, I got it to stop Crashing. I had the same problem as you. Uninstall your invidia drivers. both of them the driver and the performance driver. Install the 169.96 driver from nvidia’s website. I didn’t install the performance driver and it fixed my problem. Mudbox doesn’t crash. I will try installing the performance driver to see if that was the cause of the problem.

    The patch dont work: “the patch does not work indicates mudbox.exe file is not found”
    given the option of the Bucar mudbox.exe
    but when I find and select shows file in use!
    please someone help me

    after installing mudbox 2009
    and trying to patch the mudbox.exe file crack info says:

    Filesize OK!
    CRC32 check failed!
    nothing patched!
    …done!

    OS: vista home premium 32 bit

    I’ve got the same problem as the other. The famous “CRC32 check failed!”
    I use Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bits)
    I downloaded the trial version on the autodesk website
    I ran the patch with administrator rules, but noting, the patch don’t work.

    Is anybody have a solution ?

  41. Mine keeps saying “There is a registry error with the current installation.” I’ve reinstalled it about 6 times at least by now. >.<

    It works the first time right after installation and then doesn’t work after that.

    I’m running Vista Home Edition 64-bit. Anyone have any ideas? The patcher did absolutely nothing… FAIL!

    Try right clicking mudbox.exe>properties>compatability tab>run as administrator

    I got mine to patch by moving the mudbox.exe to another folder containing the patch. Ran the patch there and then moved it back into the Program Files/Autodesk/Mudbox 2009 folder.
