Automatron

Automatron is a powerful new character animation tool for 3ds Max 8 and up, designed and written by Andy Murdock of Lots of Robots, the creator of the animated movie ‘LOR’. In order to make this feature film project, new tools were needed to complete the enormous amount of character animation. So far in ‘LOR’, there are only a handful of robots, as the movie continues, there will be hundreds… or lots of robots. Automatron is born!!!

Automatron was made to solve many of the frustrations that I encounter when doing character animation. One of the biggest frustrations is dealing with a complex character rig. Hunting around the scene, un-hiding and selecting parts of the rig and unfolding countless interface rollouts just to lay a few keys or adjust controllers can eat up a huge amount of creative energy. That wasted time had to be spent elsewhere, you know, making animation.

  3. I juss can’t xtract the files. Can anyone help me? Pleeeeazzzeee!

  4. banglabhai, what software are u using to extract. u need an archiving application called Winrar, or 7zip to get these files. Please when someone has probs, at least give some details about them, so they can be trouble-shot…

  5. It isntalls sorta fine, but at a point it sas it cannot create the icons. after reboot it lets me drag the icons to the toolbar, but then the kg doesnt work, saying it can write the files. after restaring and trying again, it just clicks on the button without actually generating anything.

  7. Thnx a lot cH1ooo for responding. Actually i;m using winrar bt when i try 2 xtract it says me 2 refer some other files, i got sum bt not all, as a result xtraction doesnt complete. It would be very helpful for me if u’d like 2 guide me.

  8. The doesn’t work on 3dsmax 2009 why ?
    It’s made somthing like “maxscript rollout handler exception

    or doesn’t want to creat the dat file ..!
