Digital tutors – Getting Started with Digital Assets in Houdini
In this course we will get started with Houdini Digital Assets and learn how to use them
Along with building a complex light rig, the following lessons will show the advantages to using digital assets and the knowledge you gain will be critical in other Houdini projects especially in the realm of character rigging. By making your nodes reusable with digital asset, you can save a lot of time and really take advantage of the procedural nature of Houdini.

composite
In this series of lessons we’ll learn how to get started using Autodesk Composite, which was previously called Autodesk Toxik. Using Composite we can quickly color correct, mask, composite and animate still images and image sequences.
We’ll begin this project by learning the basic composition creation process, learning how to move around the Composite user interface, begin compositing images together and render out our finished material. We’ll then move into the common uses of Composite such as Color Correction, Masking, 3D compositing and Animation. This series of lessons is a great starting point to learning Composite. By learning the tools and fundamental workflows of Composite, we will be able to create complex effects and images in no time. This will allow us to begin exploring other areas of Composite and start using Composite in our own production pipeline.

detailing
In this course, we will learn teachniques for interior/exterior architectural detailing in ZBrush
Building and detailing environments can be a time consuming process. To finish your models, you might need to create texture maps, either derived from photos, procedurally generated or hand painted. Adding higher resolution detail, like bricks or stone, to your interior and exterior models can be challenging as well. ZBrush can make this process a little bit easier. We’ll start by creating a seamless brick texture that we can apply to our geometry. We’ll look at using the Projection Master to quickly add detail to our models. We’ll use Noise to interactively dial in some specific patterns, like a knockdown wall texture. We’ll also look at building individual elements using primitive geometry that we can then append to our model. Once you’re done, you’ll have a better understanding of some of the tools you can use to detail your environments in ZBrush and a few ideas to get you going.

Digital Tutors-Getting Started with ICE in Softimage 2011
In this series of lessons we’ll learn how to use the Interactive Creative Environment inside Softimage to create particle effects. We built this course for people who have never touched ICE because it’s such a powerful system that users of other applications find very useful.
We’ll begin this project by learning the basic concepts behind ICE such as the main uses of ICE, the basic workflow of ICE and how ICE nodes work together. We’ll then learn about the various data types and the importance of context while working in ICE. Once we understand the ideas behind ICE, we will take a few lessons to familiarize ourselves with the Softimage interface. Then we will begin building a particle simulation from the ground up and learn about various ICE nodes and workflows. We’ll finish by rendering out an image sequence of our finished particle simulation. This series of lessons was designed to launch someone who has never touched Softimage into being comfortable with the interface and working with ICE. This will allow us to create particle simulations in ICE quickly and easily and begin exploring this powerful platform.

Digital Tutors – Shader Recipes-Diffraction Grating in Maya
In this series of lessons we will learn how to simulate the light-scattering appearance of a diffraction grating, which can be seen when looking at the surface of a CD or a DVD.
While Maya may not have the capability to simulate a true diffraction grating, we can create a shading network that can very closely mimic the effect. We will learn how to use ramps, layered shaders, anisotropic materials, texture placement nodes, and specular lights to create a realistic rendered CD.

Digital Tutors – Introduction to Tracking in After Effects
In this series of lessons we’ll learn how to use the tracker built in to After Effects to analyze real life footage and find the movement of objects. This is an important technique for matching an image or animation’s position, rotation, scale and perspective skewing to footage.
We’ll begin this project by doing a simple one point track using some easy footage and how to apply that movement information to other layers. We’ll then learn how to do a two point track on real footage and create a black-bar effect over someone’s eyes. Lastly, we’ll track the four corners of a television screen to replace the image on the screen. We’ll then learn some tips for getting a track from difficult footage using color correct techniques.

Digital Tutors – The 12 Principles of Animation in Maya
In this course, we will guide you through the 12 Principles of Animation in Maya.
Why does my character’s motion look so unnatural and unappealing? How can my animations captivate an audience? What, in my character’s movement, is missing that will enable it to be convincing and entertaining? These are a few questions that will be answered through this training, all with the help of these fundamental rules of animation.

Digital Tutors – Getting Started with mocha for After Effects
In this series of lessons we will learn how to use the mocha for After Effects application to track objects and use that tracking data inside After Effects. mocha for After Effects is bundled with After Effects versions CS4 and later, so you might already have access to this powerful planer tracker.
We’ll begin this project by creating a new project and learning the basics of the mocha planar tracker. We’ll then learn how to bring that tracking data into after effects to do a sign replacement. We’ll then learn how to change the output of mocha for an easier integration into After Effects. Once that is done, we’ll learn about tracking with multiple layers in mocha and how to stabilize footage. We’ll finish by working through a few difficult to track clips and learn the variety of tools we have to tweak and edit tracks in
mocha.
