  1. I work on MAC and download twice de .r00 and not work, stuffit can’t find de r00. I think the file is corrupted!!! please someone compress again in a ZIP file!! and mediafire.com is best than rapidshare!! please someone upload de mac 1.6 version!

  2. I have solved some of the problems but I have some bugs. It’s normal? Someone with a mac intel with leopard runs the program perfectly??

    did not extract correctly and there is nothing in the extracted folders but two empty folders. any help is greatly appreciated?

    I download many times in different compurer MAc or PC and doesn’t work one of the files aren’t complete!!! Please someone upload for MAC again!!

  13. Can somebody please explain how to do this, as I’m a complete novice when it comes to using terminal:
    “open Terminal and navigate to crack folder to desktop and CHMOD +x every cracked file”
    A screenshot or something that shows the code will be helpful.
    And what does “CHMOD+x” mean?

    i unpack and i unpack the next zip in the zip (?)
    and then the package seems to be damaged…

  18. Okay. I am a complete newbie to mac, but after several hours I got the Maxwell Render 1.6 for OS X crack to work. I got stuck on step 4 (chmod +x the crack files) and i see some people got stuck on that too, so this is how i got it to work (let me say this was mi first time i used the terminal on mac) so if you are an absolute begginer like myself, this is what you want to do:

    1. After you have extracted the crack folder to desktop, open a terminal window. (in finder, go to Applications/utilities/terminal). You should also open the crack folder you extracted on desktop and place it by the terminal window side.

    2. on the terminal you just write:
    chmod +x[ (exactly like this, including the bracket, without leaving any space between the “x” and “[“)

    3. then, from the crack folder just drag the first file (mxcl) and drop it on the terminal window. The path will then appear on the command. You should have something like this:
    chmod -X[/Users/(your computer name)/Desktop/crack\ mxwl\ 1.6/mxcl

    4. Add the other bracket (“]”) witouth leaving any space after the file name. You’ll obiously end up having something like this:
    chmod -X[/Users/(your computer name)/Desktop/crack\ mxwl\ 1.6/mxcl]

    5. Hit enter. If it ask for a password, type your user login password. If everything went good, then something like this should come from the terminal:

    usage: chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-a | +a | =a [i][# [ n]]] mode|entry file …
    chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-E | -C | -i | -I] file …

    6. Repeat all these steps for each file in the crack folder.

    7. After you do this go to the maxwell folder, right click or command click the mxcl file and select show package contents/contents/mac os, and replace de mxcl with the cracked mxcl file. Close the window
    Go again to the maxwell folder, and on Mxcl manager file, do the same. And then to mxcl server and Mxstudio, replacing the file with the cracked one.

    8. Put license.dat into Maxwell folder, run mxstudio and from help menu choose license and
    load the license.
    9. Enjoy it!

    I am not sure if it works for everyone but it worked for me.

    but when I replace the chmod +x[ file
    and try to open mx studio or whatever
    it just doesn’t open.
    The file before I replaced was black.. the chmod +x[file is white?

  24. Hi all… got the maxwell render crack to work for macbook pro 15″
    I put the unziped crack files onto a thumb drive and dropped them onto the desktop of my sons powerbook g4. Suddenly I noticed the files changed from the white icon to the black one with exec on it. Good sign. So I ran the chmod +x commands in the terminal similar to Ando’s fine idea, but a bit different.
    I just wrote chmod +x then I droped the first file onto the terminal window. no space between the chmod and the file path that pops up. For some reason there was one blanc space after the last letter so I just deleted it so the curser is right next to the last letter. Then I hit enter and up popped the same sort of thing Ando got
    Something like

    usage: chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-a | +a | =a [i][# [ n]]] mode|entry file ?

    So I did this on all the files as per the instructions.

    Dumped them back onto the thumb drive. and transfered them onto the powerbook. And hey presto, the files were still the black ones with exec on them. Im no tech head, I just liked the nice black icons.
    I pasted them into the package contents and put the licence .dat file in the maxwell folder and it all worked straight away. I did not need to go to the licence menu and select the licence.dat file.
    I have the plugin installed to work with maya 8 and now I have no watermark… nothing. Seems perfect.
    So if you have access to a G4, do the terminal trick with one of those and it should be fine.
    Hope it works for some of you at least.

    Make sure you have a space between
    chmod

    and the

    +x

    Like this chmod +x

    Not like this chmod+x

    I wasted half an hour on that one.

  27. i can’t believe you all did some chmod hack to run maxwell v1.6 macosx…
    as i’ve been rendering some of my art work in v.1.6 MacOSX… never did chmod hack, only put app patch…
    and i’ve been download in first rapidshare link from here..

    so i just want to know what’s your problem til you did terminal hack..

    btw i’ve rum v.1.6 in Hackintosh not leopard only 10.4.9 and it work as well

    and now i’m waiting v.1.7… anybody crack this?

    in the end it also works without the chmod?

    I downloaded the demo from maxwell website.

    then placed it into the programm folder and put the license.dat on the right place.. finally some displacement fun for me :)

    oh oh so nice :P maxwell on mac is a bless!

    now 1.7 pfff

    Nice that someone uploaded Maxwell tutorials… but It’s chinese!

    unless the DVDs have some language lessons… at least there should be some kind of subtitles.
