Author George Maestri explores the significant and robust feature set in Maya 2011 that add functionality for its 3D workflows in Maya 2011 New Features. This course covers the addition of Bezier curves for NURBS modelers, the Connect Component and Spin Edge tools in the polygonal modeling mode, and rigging tools for character animation. Hey! What if i did? lol. Launched Blender recently, haven’t used it like.. for a year (since i’m forced to use maya now), man Blender changed so much! It was updated like 3-5 times during this time. New powerful modeling tools new interface and all da shit. If Autodesk continues updating it’s software the way it does now, I think i won’t even have to download gigs for nothing. 20 megs software will do it!
ahh.. i see this is wat happens wen the public gets access to pirated copy of products software like autodesk, they take for granted its features and gets to notice only the tools they know how to use on like maya then compare it to other product like blender. obviously you never had proper training on maya i guess u only watch those video trainings.. lol. just because blender can model animate texture etc. like maya does, doesnt mean thats the only features maya has.. but its because “those are the only things u know wat to do in maya’. believe me blender is very very far away to match maya’s features
lol. Dude. 2nd year of Digital Multimedia Program. And I’m going for 3. Unfortunately Maya is the only proper training i got. Obviously you learned how to use maya about 10 years ago and you have no idea that there are better programs now that are capable of same things as maya, which is FAR from being perfect. And what are those awesome granted “features” ure talking about, that are not available in XSI for example? or in Max? I’m a character modeler, and maya modelling feels like freaking 80’s. Thanx god interface got updated. Before posting retarded comments, go out there and take a look at features of other software packages. Modeling wise blender is getting way more advanced than maya (if not already got) and I’m happy with it, so ur argument is rendered as invalid, sir!
