  1. thankyou very much, are these as good as the Simian/Vismasters material setups that were out for Vray SP2? I really used to find those useful till I upgraded and they didn’t work anymore, been looking for something similar till now.

  5. I cant seem to find the vray materials presets pro anywhere. I didnt have this problem when I installed the beta a few months ago.

  6. If you installed SolidRocks, is the same process here.
1.-After install, go to Customize>Customize User Interface> then under the “Toolbar” section, create a new toolbar (you can put the name you want),drag that toolbar to your main toolbar, And on the list search for “Vray Material Preset Pro” and then select it and drag it to your new toolbar that you created, and thats all.
    Any cuestion??

  7. I was wondering that how to generate *.dat file. what I have to put in Max root?!!! I installed it but in Keygen I just found a file ‘VMPP_LicGen’ which is a max script file.

could u please explain how to install and use it?

    many thanks

  8. 1. Launch 3ds Max, go to Utilities > MAXScript and select ‘Get License Request’. in a Keygen.
When you receive Key (*.dat) file, place it in 3ds Max root (installation) directory (Important!).
    2. After install, go to Customize>Customize User Interface> then under the ?Toolbar? section, create a new toolbar (you can put the name you want),drag that toolbar to your main toolbar, And on the list search for ?Vray Material Preset Pro?

  10. Ok new links replaced download asap before it goes offline again……

      • @LYAA A -seems like you haven’t refreshed your linkpage. ..you were refering to “abc.part 4″(old blocked links)
        …new links mention “abcd.part 4”

  11. Hi, I download the one file,(from http://turbobit.net/0ow8oxn9xj4w.html) it requires a password. Can tell what he!//))))

  12. 1. Install the main program, “VMPP_1_5_Setup.exe”.

    2. Start 3ds Max.

    3. Up in the top toolbar, click on “MAXScript”.

    4. From the drop down menu, choose, “Run Script…”.

    5. Navigate to your other file entitled, “VMPP_LicGen_iND.mse”.

    6. Viola! This is your “Keygen/.DAT Creator”. All you can do is hit the
“Generate” button, and it will seem as though nothing has happened.
It did though. It has created your “.DAT” file, entitled,
“vraymtlpresetsprolock.dat” in the same folder/directory as your file
    entitled, “VMPP_LicGen_iND.mse”.

    7. Close 3ds.

    8. Copy your new file entitled, “vraymtlpresetsprolock.dat”, to 3DS’s main
install folder. In my case, I am running “Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 SP1 x64”,
so my main installation folder is: (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010).
Yours, however, will most likely be a different folder, if you have a
    different version of 3ds.

    9. Restart 3ds.

    10. In this step, I am going to show you a quick way to simply see the program.
In actual practice, you can assign the program any where you like in the
    toolbar.

With 3ds open again, once again in the top toolbar, click on, “Customize”,
and from the drop down menu, click, “Customize User Interface…”.

Once the, “Customize User Interface” box appears, choose the, “Toolbars” tab.

Now in the large scrolling menu on the left, scroll down nearly to the bottom,
until you see an entry entitled, “V-Ray Material Presets Pro”. Click, and
drag that entry just across to the right, into the, “Quick Access Toolbar”
menu box, and then click the “X” in the top right hand corner of the,
    “Customize User Interface” box.

Now, if you look up in your, “Quick Access Toolbar”, you will notice a new
icon, and if you, “mouse-over” that icon, it should reflect,
    “V-Ray Material Presets Pro”.

    11. Click the new icon to launch the program. If you did everything correct to
this point, it should say, “V-Ray Material Presets Pro 1.5 — Registered” in
the title bar of the program.

    12. From here, just pick the material of choice from the eleven option buttons,
pick further sub-categories just below that, and your material should show up
in the little window at the top left hand corner of the program.

    13. Next, once you have your desired material, click on the, “Assign Material”
button, and once again, it seems as though nothing has happened, but it has.
Your material has automatically been inserted into 3ds’s Material Editor.
Open 3ds’s Material Editor, and you will see your material already placed
into an available slot, where, at this point, all you have to do is drag and
drop your material onto your object in 3ds, such as a box, or sphere.

      • Al-

What step are you having trouble with?

Im sorry if my steps werent very detailed, but if you can tell me what part you dont understand, I will clarify it for you.

        • I do not understand the step to six
please explain in more detail …
          thanks

          • Request Number :
            Username : Joker
            Computer Name :Cyber
            CPU Count : 2
            Generated

he asked when I generate please fill in requestID
            what to do?

            whats is request number…
            thanx.

            • Al-

Found a number of things for you to try. No guarantees, as these are not my fixes, I found them in the forum, and one of them may help you.

              1. Disconnect from the network, and try to run the Max Script file again to see if you now have a Request Number showing yet.

              2. Go to your 3ds default installation folder, and see if you now have an additional folder inside there, that also has the name of 3ds 2010 or something. Something like this:
              ……………..\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2011\max2010

If you do have a “max” folder, within your, “max” folder, copy everything out of the “bogus” folder, back into your authentic max installation folder, and restart max.

              3. Downloaded the “updated” generator:
              http://www.sendspace.com/file/82hix2

    • Hi!

I hope you can help me out since your description is really tight.
Running Max 2010 32bit with vray 1.5 sp 4a. shouldn`t be a prob since the siger stuff should work with this.
Followed your step by step Installation workflow BUT there`s this one prob I can`t overcome: NO Materialpresets in the Toolbarsection of the UI. I`m stuck and frustrated.
The lic file is generated successfully and I pasted into the Max root.
The second way is to run a generated .mse file which is created I guess.(shouldn`t it?)But i get an “error in line..” when slapping it into a new toolbar. Need help. plsssss! Thanks:D

    • Thanks but I still there is no V-ray Material Preset Pro on my customize user interface/category after restarting 3ds

  13. when i generate
is error… please fill in requestID

    what should i do ?
    help me…

    • 1. Install
      2. Generate lic request file and save on desktop
      3. Fire keygen and generate lic file (drag VMPP_LicGen.mse inside 3ds max & hit generate)
      4. Save lic file (c:vmpptemp) inside 3ds max root folder
      5. Open 3ds Max
      6. Right click on toolbar next to render button-> customize
      7. Search for s_vray tools on the category bar
      8. Drag the v-ray material presets pro on the toolbar next to render button

  14. I guess this vray material doesn’t work with
    3ds max 2009 (vray 1.5 Sp2).
Because i’ve tried all methods but the ?V-Ray Material Presets Pro?
doesn’t show on my scroll menu.
Thanks “Engine Joe” your comments were helpful.
But please if anyone successfully installed
this vray material on 3ds max 2009 (vray 1.5 Sp2)
    Please let me know.

    • airtikket, did you make sure that the first thing you did was install the main program?

That by itself “should” put the listing for the program in the large scrolling menu on the left side. Registered yet, or not, it still should be listed at that point.

      • Yes i did,
but still doesn’t show up on my scroll menu.
Sorry am using a 32bit system with
        3ds max 2009 (vray demo 1.5 Sp2)

        • @airtikket
I did not get the Vray Materials Presets on the customize listing in the 2009 versions too

  15. nvm
    Works fine now.
All i had to do was to change the default installation
    root folder which
    is (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010) to
    (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009) when installing,
    I’m using 3ds max 2009 and that’s all.
Just follow the procedures posted by “Engine Joe”.
    Thanks again

    • It works now… i’m also working wit 3ds max2009 and we have the same problem instaling… tnx!

  16. well it works but only if you are disconnected from the internet other wise it does nt load

  17. yep, doesn’t work when you’re connected. Says “Not Registered”. Disconnect and fire it again, and it says “Registered” and works perfectly. Once it’s open as “Registered”, you can connect to the internet again and it stays Registered until you close it. And once the materials are in the materials editor, it doesn’t matter whether it recognizes it as registered or not.

Minor annoyance, but any idea how to avoid this?

    • When i render with mental ray renderer in the assign renderer in max 2010 I have this error:
MSG 0.0 erroe: material “….. (VRayyMt1)” not supported by the tranlator – will render black

      Can someone tell me way
      thanks

      • …omg ..sigh. ..ok. i will tell you why:
..i’m pretty sure this link says VRAY MATERIAL PRESETS,
not MR MATERIAL PRESETS. confused it with the other? =)

  18. yep, doesn?t work when you?re connected. Says ?Not Registered?. Disconnect and fire it again, and it says ?Registered? and works perfectly. Once it?s open as ?Registered?, you can connect to the internet again and it stays Registered until you close it. And once the materials are in the materials editor, it doesn?t matter whether it recognizes it as registered or not.

Minor annoyance, but any idea how to avoid this?

    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2011
but when i opened ?Customize User Interface? ?Toolbars?
    i did not find the.

does any one know where i can find vray for “3ds Max Design 2011 x86” that mybe works with
      ?V-Ray Material Presets Pro?.
      thanks for your help

  20. it works with win 7 x64 + 3ds max 2011 x64…
you have to install it at the C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2011 directions and not create a new 2010 folder… than copy the vraymtlpresetsprolock.dat at your 3ds max 2011 folder and done… anything else, contact me… [email protected]

  21. ???? ??? ?? 2010 ??? ???? ??? ????? ???? ???? ????? ??? ?? ???? ?? ???? ???? ???? ?? ????? ????? ????? ?????

  22. very very thanks. It’s work. i use 3ds max design 2010 with vray 1.5 sp4.vista x64. it very useful.thank you so much again.

  23. 1) install siger shaders
    2) drag the file licgen into 3dsmax ui, generate lic request file and it will be saved automatically into c:/vmpptemp
    3) once lic file is generated
    4) save lic file which is into th (c:\vmpptemp) folder, inside 3ds max root folder
    5) launch 3ds Max
    6) after install, go to Customize>Customize User Interface> then under the ?Toolbar? section, create a new toolbar (you can put the name you want),drag that toolbar to your main toolbar, And on the list search for ?Vray Material Preset Pro?
    7) enjoy! i hope that way works
it worked on my 3ds max 2010 and 2011

  24. i agree with who said that max 2011 ui is way more complex than that in 2010

  25. Im still having a NOT REGISTERED copy… I generated my .dat file without problems… copying it into my 3dsmax root folder, adding it to my toolbar in max, when I open it right after, all I get is Not registered…

Im trying on max 2011 tho ? any idea how to get it working ?

I have tried also disconnecting my network card and I have the same problem offline…

    thanks to anyone helping :-)

  26. ooO well, maybe I found out my problem… I installed V-Ray material Presets Pro 1.4 and the keyg is for 1.5 i think, it could be my problem… ill get first the 1.5 version… :-)

    • After the installation i drag in max the lic generator and click on generate, but an error message appear (can’t write vraymtlpresetsprolock.dat) anyone can help me please?
