  4. Hi,
I have had many problems getting the 64 bit version to work. First of all it wouldn’t let me open the patch, some permission error, which i fixed in safe mode. Now when i try to use the optical flares plugin in AE it still asks me for the license.
    Thanks,
    Pat

  5. 64 bit version doesn’t work :( I sticked to the notes but it keeps asking for license… :(

  7. It took me a couple of tries but here is how to use this crack:
(The person who wrote the instructions obviously is not a native speaker of English. Not their fault, it just makes things complicated with broken English in the instructions, so I want to help, because this download is really worth the effort, and everyone seems to have problems installing it. I know I did.)
    First you need these things:
The Optical Flares Release which can be found here:
    http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2304250/820434/
Then you download this file from CG Persia:
    https://cgpersia.com/2010/05/videocopilot-optical-flares-v1-2-124-win3264bit-6956.html
(You’re already on the right page for that one)

When all is downloaded here’s what you do:
1: Take the File called Optical Flares (PC), and place it in the Plug-Ins folder of your After Effects Folder
(C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support Files\Plug?ins\Optical Flares\) From this point on, you only need the files you get from this CG Persia File.
2: Replace the original “OpticalFlares.aex” file, with the “OpticalFlares.aex” file from the 1.2.123 file.
    3: Launch After Effects CS5.
    4: Make a New Composition. (Composition>New)
    5: Make a new Solid. (Layer>New>Solid)
6: Go to Effects&Presets, scroll all the way down to Video Copilot, and place the Optical Flares on the Solid.
    7: Copy the requested HardwareID.
    8: Close After Effects.
9: Launch “LicGen OF v1.2.123.exe” with Administrative Rights. (Do that by Right Clicking and choose Run as Administrator)
10: Put you HardwareID in the LicGen OF v1.2.123.
11: Press “Generate License” and Select the Optical Flares specific folder to extract and save the new LIC into it. (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Optical Flares\)
    12: Cut/Copy the “Patch OF v1.2.123 WinX64.exe” application into the Optical Flares folder. (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Optical Flares\)
13: Launch “Patch OF v1.2.123 WinX64.exe” with Administrative Rights. (Right Click and choose Run as Administrator)
    14: The End. Enjoy!

I hope this helped anyone out there that just wasn’t getting it.

  8. Thanks 64bit works fine.

Do not forget – that’s an update!

    1. install Optical Flares v1.2.123 (not included in this release)

    2. copy ‘OpticalFlares.aex’ and ‘Patch OF v1.2.123 WinX64.exe’ (from this release) to AE plugins dir

    4. run AE and get ID by applying ‘video copilot/optical flares’ effect to any layer

    3. close AE and use ‘LicGen OF v1.2.123.exe’ and generate license

    4. make sure than ‘OpticalFlaresLicense.lic’ in same folder with ‘OpticalFlares.aex’

    5. apply patch
