The newest update to V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max is now delivers new shader for rendering Fur and Hair and significant GPU enhancements.

The V-Ray rendering system has a rich set of features. Please be aware that every feature is a subject to change without advanced
notice. Here are some of the key features of the new V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max.

VRayCarPaintMtl
create stunning car paint shaders complete with base, flake and coat layers.

VRayHairMtl
is a new shader, allowing hair and fur to be rendered with unprecedented control, quality, and speed.VRayLightSelect Render Element
become a master of lighting with the new VrayLightSelect feature and extract the contribution of each light to
the scene or compose all the lights back together and change their intensity in real time in any compositing software.

VRayMultiSubTex
use this V-Ray specific texture to assign different textures based on object ID.

Instructions:

For the crack, place cgauth.dll and vray2012.dll in both your max directory AND cgauth.dll in C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\RT for 3ds Max 2012 for x64\bin!

That’s why RT isn’t working for you guys

  3. I am having problems.
    I have Max 2011, 64bit installed.
    I tried to install Vray2.0.. it comes up with successfully installed, but it doesnt work, it says “Could not obtain a license (-200).” What should I do?
    What did I do wrong, I tried twice already, uninstalling and reinstalling. *sigh*
    Anyone to help me please?

    • …and when I try to render whatever, it comes with message “Could not obtain a license (10061).”
      …lots of errors marked up and it doesnt render the scene.

          thats where i have it installed.
          is it the wrong path to put it ?

          I just decided to try to move it to the main root folder.. it worked!!!

    • Its starting to seem like Max is first for all of the good stuff. I LOVE Maya, but Max is starting to look very strong. I am into dynamics, so fumefx. rayfire, and Particle flow, are looking pretty sexy. Its almost like someones trying to drive Maya out of business……

  5. Not 100% working!
    Good work with it, but HairInfoTex doe’s not work in few cases.
    Look at “Position along strand” and “Random by strand index” options in HairInfoTex as a map for let’s say diffuse slot in VrayHairMtl – doesn’t work as in chaosgrp movie presenting this feature, also I tried a lot of cases but this just doesn’t work for me at all.

  6. I also have Max 2011, 64bit installed with win7 64bit sp1. and also has ?Could not obtain a license (-200) problems. I 100% sure crack put on right folder.

    I install vray with choice 2nd option. I think that a crack bugs.

  12. The lens distorted picture from autoslide was made by Zoran Gorski from Croatia, you should check his work, it’s amazing.

    Even placing cgauth.dll in that dir, when starting RT it still doesnt work. Here I have a AMD DRIVER RECOVERY error, and no render at all. Thanks!

    is there a difference between max design 2011 and max 2011? I am not getting all the materials. I was looking for VRayMtl, for example, and it doesn’t show.
    Any ideas why?

    When installin’ VRay, be sure to check “render slave” option when asked on installation screen….

  30. It finally worked!!
    I read this and have been trying all day but when I installed Vray I just clicked next but the first step you have to choose the RENDER SLAVE option!! and then put the crack files in the right place.

    Version 32 for max design 2012, when I click on the install, the window opens and closes immediately!
    I’ts strange because I have already installed Vray 2.00 without any problem, but I wanted the sp2 version.
    Any suggestion?

    When I install, it asks for WIBU KEY to install and also there is an option for register that.. What should I do here.?

    And I tried with and without WIBU-KEY setup. V-Ray is displayed in renderer’s option but could not obtain a license (-200) error comes up.

    Please help me with step by step installation guide..

  37. hi,suddenly i am facing a problem,i use vray in max 2011,32bit in my home.but suddenly its not working,material is not coming and render massage coming that ‘could not obtained license(4096).many times i have uninstall and re install it ,but now material is coming,this msg also not coming,but after some time render stopped and max has been closed.but in my office system unexpectedly same problem i am facing,and in my office system it is not solving at all.i downloaded new vray plugins and install in my office system,but its not solving the problems.and in my laptop also i am facing same problem.at the same time why i am facing same problem i all my computer?and yes i install same file of max 2011 and vray in my office my home computer and my laptop.please help.

  39. Same problem, on both my laptop and my computer at work. I use Vray for 3ds max 2011 as well. Does anyone has another version we could all use? It’s quite a bad timing!

    I changed my computer’s date to 06/25/2012 and vray is back ! not a very clean solution but a temporary one while waiting for new crack !

      Thanks for the help the same problem i had as you show me the way out in v ray as every one talking about the installation but our problem was something else

      one thing i would like to share with you and wanted to know how true is that

      as i discussed the same problem with my frd he said we had the same problem and we found that company just tracking those id who using their products with out commercial licence so what they do they just block there software for that particular ids after that no matter what u do like re install or format Ur PC that software would not work

      so if ur working max v ray turn off Ur internet

      so its could be consider as question or a solution from my side

  47. strange…it didn’t work for me. I changed the date, restared max, restarted machne , but same shit :) Vray used to work before so I am sure tha I have installed it properly.
