GroundWiz is a plug-in for 3ds Max for making nature scenes with ease and precision.
GroundWiz consists of three main parts: GroundWiz Procedural Terrain Map, GroundWiz Planter and GroundWiz Variation Map for 3ds Max.
Currently GroundWiz supports 3ds Max 2012, 3ds Max 2011, 3ds Max 2010, 3ds Max 2009, and 3ds Max 2008.

  13. I see you guys are still enjoying this tool.
    I am a developer of GroundWiz plugin. I guess the free version that can be downloaded from our site wasn’t good enough.
    I wish I could share the tool for free but I have to feed myself and my partner. Many years were spent on this program although we are barely surviving on this. We had passion to do this but to see this link is really crushing us down.
    I hope some people still find GroundWiz useful enough to reward us for our effort.

    • Man, I feel your pain, I really do. I see the free link for your software, but I won’t use it, because I don’t need this plugin. Most people here just want to see what is this all about, I doubt that they are making a living out of it, like you do. I always support the developers, if I like the software, and am able to fully utilize it. Many people do. Just don’t give up on making these kind of stuff. It is not like a gaming industry, where you would definitely sink, if you’re by yourself, but this is different. People who are making a living out of it are going to support you, I know from my own experience. Maybe the reason you’re barely holding up on this is that you missed the audience. I bet you would make a fortune on a plugin for max that makes that slow and dull piece of modeling crap software into a fully working CAD system for parametric modeling. That would be awesome and I would definitely support you on this.

    • be happy man! if your product isn’t spread widely on sites like this one, it means nobody gives a shit about it and you will likely see very little money. because nobody even knows about it. you can see that with many smaller applications that have aggressive anti-piracy politics. they’ll usually just vanish because people don’t care about things they can’t try out for a while before buying it. and evaluation versions and such are usually not sufficient.
      what IS counterproductive is bitching about “piracy”. because people don’t appreciate being pressured. do you know how much all those creative tools cost and how much an average artist makes? it’s insane! you would have maybe 10% of the artists you have now because the vast, vast majority of them simply wouldn’t be able to afford the products they use. but they might in the future. when their career is progressing nicely and they make so much money that they can actually afford investing a couple of Ks in something on a whim (because to REALLY be sure that a product is worth its money, you realistically have to use it for at least a year). or invest that money in tools they already know are great. and especially with a tool as cheap as yours, that might be sooner than you think.
      however… if they have bad memories about the producer of a tool… they will probably think twice about purchasing it, even if they can afford it.

    what “Dar” says is cent percent, and we(ofcourse me) came to know there is a plugin like “onyx” or something only by these CG posts.. actually these sites makes you popular.. no need to worry. there are always some people waiting to buy a good stuff, and your part is to do your best, dont worry man.
