      • I totally agree w/ jd. This is rubbish. I just watched 2 out of 5 of the free video samples on DT website, and it forced me to check the calendar – in case i somehow moved back in time to the very last days of 20th century. I haven’t seen a tutorial on box-based character modelling for ages! The final output mesh (acc. to the screenshots) is so blocky that it cld be used only in a low budget mobile game project. None of the chapters can be even useful for a totally beginners – the techniques shown here are too anachronistic (and if you’re rly keen to learn oldschool char lowpoly modelling workflow I recommend Paul Steeds book called Modelling a Character in 3DS Max; Wordware Publishing circa 2001/2002).
        //tho, no offense Owen:)

  1. digital tutors is generally produce unusable tutorials. You can get idea from them but you cant learn for sure. lynda is more better than the others if you want to learn…

  2. If you want to be a good 3d modeler, you?ll have to explore different ways of doing the job, and then find your own ways, even box modeling or “old 3d school techniques”. what is good for someone not necesary is good for others. So I recomend watch every stuff no mater what ppl say and then decide for yourself… Take for sure we allways learn something even form material like this.

  3. Thanks ! It’s the first tutorial I download on your website, I hope it will be useful

  4. The fifth links on ul.to doesn’t work ! Can you edit the post ?
