This DVD is focused on creating a character from scratch, although some features from the previous DVD will be used, Blender has renewed its mesh system completely so we will take advantage of that and re-visit all these techniques, the Hair & Fur system, new UV tools, new shortcuts, new interface, and much more. Why do you laugh? Blender is well capable for character development and animation. In fact, in a few ways, Blender excels at it.
Once you learn how to use it, Blender is far faster with modeling characters than in Maya, it’s got some decent texturing features, has a solid built-in game engine you can use to record physics-based animations, it has some nice rigging scripts, its interactive rendering with Cycles is wonderful, and its built-in compositing tool and non-linear animation editor are serious tools for very capable animation. Plus, it’s free. :)
You may laugh with your needless elitism, but there are plenty of animated works produced with it that prove you wrong.

I used to work with 3dsMax, and I know that it’s a great proffessional tool for 3d. But now i’m learning Blender and til now, i don’t think there is anything that you can do with Max that you can’t do with Blender. (in one or another way)
