There is so much great content in this magazine I don?t know where to begin. Maybe a good starting point would be this month?s interview which is with the sublime character artist Abraham Valdez. Abraham has been churning out great artwork in forums that has been catching our eye for some time now, and this month we finally caught up with him for an interview. Abraham tells us about his route from being a traditional artist to creating characters for the new Medal of Honor game at EA Games in America.
Some of you will remember the human looking Mr. Burns from the cover of the April issue of 3DCreative. Well in this month?s issue Martin Beyer tells us how he transformed a creepy Mr. Burns cartoon into an even creepier human looking version. Martin shows us how he captured the character of Mr Burns by perfecting his pose and how vital it is to have good reference images.

Hello everybody and welcome to the 58th issue of 3DCreative magazine. We have some new tutorials for you this month including an amazing new environment lighting series. The last issue featured the last chapter in our outdoor lighting series and this month we move on to an indoor scene. This series will be concentrating on the way natural and artificial light can be created for an amazing indoor scene that was created for us by Viktor Frety?n. For this new series we invite back some familiar faces and warmly welcome some great new artists. The series will be handled in four different pieces of software, Viktor Frety?n will be using 3DS Max and V-Ray, Jamie Cardoso 3DS Max and Mental ray, Luciano Iurino Maya and Mental Ray and Fredi Voss will be using Cinema 4D.

STASH DVD 01

This is the first issue of Stash DVD. Enjoy it!!!

Nobody reads the editorial, I said. It?s a magazine, they said, you gotta have an editorial. But it?s not like a magazine magazine with all the silly reading and stuff. Good point, they said, still need the editorial. There?s nothing to write, I said, you watch the disk, you look at the pictures, you eat your sandwich– Oh, they said, and you need a head shot. No pictures. Just a small one. No pictures. Okay, okay, they said, but people are expecting the editorial. To do what? I said, blabber about the friction of art and commerce or the democratization of digital storage space in the context of a violent and complex world? Sounds great, they said, can you do it in two hundred words?
