I had the same problem on Vista x64 as above people,
The way i solved it was simply right-click liscense manager and run it as administrator. Now select install liscense server from menu and click yes to re-install it.
Hi i have installed xsi with no problems involved but i get a red line showing script errors as soon as it starts every single time

Hi, I’m having a problem with the startup of XSI 6.5 (Adv 32), the licence server appears to be running without any problems but when I try to start the software it loads up and “thinks” for a while and the closes back down. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong here. I’m running on Vista. Any help or inishgt will be appreciated. Thank you!

I tried every method for cracking.
But it still looks as trial version.
There is no error , it is working but still trial version.
?sn’t there another crack like an exe file or different thing.
Ive installed the crack on vista and it would seem like it should work but the program never runs it gives me a license error i even ran it as an administrator and it does start the server but when i check the log it gives error on that third hidden file has anyone installed it succesfully in vista and if yes which crack did u use???…

I had the same problems and was close to freak out…
1. Be sure you copied all 3 Files (2normal + 1hidden)
2. Be sure your firewall lets you connect to the localhost

I install xsi 6.5 32 on windows xp sp2 and crack it, all seems to be ok, but when i begin to work( for example insert a sphere and add more subdivisions) windows crash and blocks everthing. i have to shut down the system.

The program be cracked, I can save use XSI and save files, but I can?t open saved files.
I try all cracks previous submited in this topic and not work correctly. Have any solution for this?

Solution for not open saved files

==> Go to Start>Programs>Softimage Products>Softimage XSI 6.5>Command Prompt
==> In command prompt type: runonce.bat and press
When finish, type exit or close the windows and try open saved files.
DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!
INSTALL XSI ADVANCED 6.1
AND YOU’LL GET SPM FOLDER CREATED IN C:\
CUT SPM FOLDER AND THEN PLACED IT IN A NEWFOLDER
AND THEN UNINSTALL XSI ADVANCED 6.1
INSTALL XSI ADVANCED 6.5
DELETE THE SPM FOLDER CREATED BY 6.5
PASTE THE SPM FOLDER CREATED BY 6.1 INTO A NEW INSTALL 6.5 IN C:\

It took me about 3 hours to get xsi 6.5 working on windows xp 64bit with all updates to OS and drivers. I tried on multiple versions like 32bit 6.0 and it did not work. From what i remember this is what I did after i uninstalled all the versions that did not work. prior to this fresh install i did the registry edit on post #5, and after the uninstall that file was removed. So with everything removed i did this.
XP Pro 64bit install.
1. Install setup_XSI_win64
2. Install setup_SPM_1502_win32 (it has 64bit support)
3. Install NetFx64
4. Install vcredist_x64
5. copy 3 crack files into c:\spm
6. Goto License Manager, Install server, Start Server
Start XSI. BOOYA!
is there a way to fix the .scn saving scenees error, i dont want to run
the runonce.bat everytime i start XSI 6.5, if its dll problem could it be the XFORCE version making this problem?

i just bought a new machine with vista 64 bit on it
and im trying to install xsi 6.5 on it …..
but no luck sofar …. because i dont have any com
ports on my machine anymore, i installed a virtual port
simulator …..
i cant get the licence server to start it all the time tells me
it cant find a dongle on my com 1 port ……
i jused the (3) crack files from my old xp32 bit crack and replaced them in my spm folder (wich moved to the root of my c drive) ….. is this rihgt or do i need more ore other crack files?
does anybody have any awnsers for me?

hi i had the same problem with the crack it seems that my bitdefender 10 plus was blocking the spmd.exe app without even giving me a warning that it blocked any thing when i added a new role to alow it access to any port then it gave me a warning that it is trying to conect to the port and i allowed it and vola it works!!
I?m also having a hard time getting the license manager to see the virtual port.
what virtual serial port software are you guy?s using?
I actually had it working fine before I had to set up my pc again and now I cant get it to work…

I did all after the instructions, even re-installed the license server, did all for like ten times, but each time im trying to start the server, it seems the servers starts (it even appears in the task manager), but after few secs it goes off, “start servet” but becomes clickable again and I cant do nothing.

ATTENTION ALL VISTA 32-64BIT USERS!!! AFTER 7 HOURS OF TRYING TO GET XSI 6.5 TO WORK I FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!!!
Make sure admin notification is on(turn on by going to contorl panel-user accounts), then go into DEP(control panel-advanced settings) and place SPMD.EXE into the list. Then, go into your SPM folder and right clocl SPMD.EXE. Set compatibility to windows 2000 and exit window. Right click Licmger.exe and check run as admin, also set compatibility to windows xp SP2.
Now run License manager, install server, and then exit window. Re-enter license manager and start the server, no error will come up, close and run XIS 6.5 error free :P
Kutzinaga, thanks so much for sacrificing 7 hours so we can get XSI 6.5 working. It all worked great and its now up and running. Thanks so much to everyone else for your comments ‘cos you all helped! I can only recommend to people who can’t get it working to go through all the comments because you’ll definitely find people who had the same problem as you!
For three days trying and trying …. And I achieved it. The problem is a file that is called ” spm-kf ” that sometimes the antivirus erase it or the system hide it. Is necessary to copy the file spm-kf inside the folder SPM and then execute other file that is called “ServiceFix.reg”, after done start the Licence Manager, now the button of “Start Server” will be activated. Click on it. When you start XSI for the first time will pop a message that say you that it gives you a term of 180 seconds to update the hour of the server. You must to answer “YES” ….. ready !!!….XSI x 64 Start. It works fine in Win XP 64

forget about 6.5xsi 7 is out and much better. Also looking for Face Robot for a long time. I can’t find any version.
Just managed to get it working in Vista Business 64bit after spending a stupid number of days re-installing. To run the license manager (c:\spm\LicMgr.exe), right-click on it and select “Run as Administrator”, and the option to install the license server and start the server work straight away.
(Note: I only have 1 user account on the PC, and that is the Administrator)
In my vista 32, works the comments number 57, of magik,
on 14 Apr 2008 at 7:01 pm.
My actions is (in instalation, XSI 6.5):
1 – after complete instalation, CUT de file smp on C:\ to System32 (C:\Windows\System32);
2 – Unzip the Crack (Crack necessary contain: SI, spm [aplication,exec.] and smp-kf [hidden or not..]) in this file “CUTTED”, select yes to override;
3 – COPY the spm (now in System32) to unit C (C:\);
4 – Open the License Manager and click in Edit Config. File and in new window, edit the lines:
KEY_FILENAME=C:\Windows\system32\spm\spm-kf
LOG_FILENAME=C:\Windows\system32\spm\spm.log
# iButton dongle on USB port: COM1
DONGLE_PORT=COM1
******original is:
