Hi. I was trying to run XSI under 32bit vista and this crack doesn`t work. Anybody knows why?? please help
I have windows xp pro sp2 32bit, and i installed xsi 6.5 advanced. The problem is that the crack doesn’t work. I did as it is described in the crack or in this post. I copied the 2 files, changed IBU to COM1 etc. but i can’t start the server (or stop) – it’s not “clickable”. Then i found out that in earlier x-force cracks there was a file named spm-kf. So i downloaded it from an earlier crack because i can’t find it in any 6.5 crack and i copied it to the spm folder on my c: drive. Now i can start the server but the program won’t work probably because the file is from an earlier version. Anyone has some ideas or files to give? Thanks in advance.
Ok, i found the spm-kf in the 6.5 crack. It’s a hidden file so enable show hidden files to see it (= there are 3 files in the crack + description etc). I messed with XSI before so probably because of that it didn’t work for me and i won’t install xp for a while to see if it works as it is described. I’m not aware of any other solution. So someone please tell how to crack this m*f*ing program efficiently (on xp sp2 32/64 bit, vista, linux) and tell it clearly that n00bs will also understand.

For anyone that had issues here is what i did using xp 32:
i uninstalled any previous versions of xsi i had, yes even 6
i reinstalled xsi using the setup_XSI_win32.exe link above.
during install it tries to verify your license. enter nothing and press ok/done [I can’t remember what it said] button
open license manager following instructions change ibu in two areas: # iButton dongle on USB port: COM1<<<<right here
# SLP: DONGLE_PORT is ignore for SLP DONGLE_TYPE
DONGLE_PORT=COM1<<<<right here
save.
extract files to [local harddrive letter]:\spm. you can browse for it. select yes to override.
I then reinstalled license server from service tab [I doubt you have to]. Then I started the server by start server button in license manager and it magically worked.

can anyone tell me whether 6.5 works on vista 64 without problems? having serious troubles and consider using a vista 64 computer… please help me, it’s very urgent!
I switched to XP because I was having issues with vista. It is suppose to be somewhat functional but it didn’t work for me.
Would this work for rendering? Yes i had to ask.

edit config file in x64 and make a small registry change like below
find spmdib.exe in registry
change it c:\spm\spm.exe
restart and start xsi”

Hey, I really need some help I have tried to get this to work for the last few days and I can’t get it to work. I have windows vista 32bit, I installed the program and I did everything the crack file said, but in the License Manager I cant click on the start server button or the stop. If I click the Get License or the Get Trial button I get an error

I solved my problem. I have xp 64 and the reason for which my xsi is not ran by the nod32. uninstall this and install Avira antivir and now run xsi 64 bit without problem.

is there anyway how to install it on linux with only one machine…
in the crack info it tells you to specify the windows machine where you installed the server…but i just have one linux machine (mandriva linux 2008)

Please if anyone findt out about instaling on vista write here;-D
if your server is on and working and you start XSI but then get a message saying you have no license active then it’s your firewall blocking it. Look under it and grant all access to spm

I’ll be damned.
Those with the same problem as Cody (Can’t open COM1 port for dongle type “SI0”). Go to the License Manager. Click Services, and Install server service. When it asks you if you want to reinstall, click YES. For some reason that did the trick for me.
Yeah thats what I need to do next but the Services tab is grayed out so I cant do anything there.
hi, I’m new to this site and it seems to be great. I just wanted to tell that I installed this version 6.5 following all the instructions but there is a problem that no body here talked about; it seems that the crack is asking the system or the bios for the date and the result is that is not the same than what’s in the crack so further on it gives an error message saying that it will modify the settings, I clicked ok then what happened is that I’m not able to open the scenes I have saved before, and the strang thing is the message that XSI gives: ” [the name of the scene] could not be!

Now you should be able to run the smpd.exe

Just tried the latest install info by raytato, but now when I run the license manager as administrator (using vista 64) the “start server” button is grayed out. I am trying to install the 64 bit version of XSI. Anyone else using this OS and have any luck? Should I just try installing the 32 bit version?

Hi Jason! I sent these same files to “MWk” and it appears that he was successful in the zip has an image and text explained how. I do not know if it works for 64 bit.

Hi Raytato, thanks for that file it worked great. Everything works perfect on 32 bit. I’ll probably try the 64-bit version just as a test in case anyone else is wondering if it will work with your file.

Hi everyone.. I’m one of the fans of Softimage XSI, I downloaded XSI 6.5, and I installed it successfully, then I tried to crack it.. but it didn’t work.. I installed it on windows XP service pack 2, I followed the instructions of the cracking… but without any new results…
all I did in brief is installed it… changed the log_file into Com1 …replaced 3 files… and clicked on start server… but failed… can you tell me what can I do.. where was the wrong step…
I need your help as soon as possible please

anyone got it work yet? I tried to .reg method in a post above but when I click on Start Server… it starts and stops a few seconds after.

This might help some people fighting with XSI 32:
First I read #12 comment by “Thestuff”, then I installed XSI 32 on XP SP2, made the changes suggested by dear “Thestuff”, copied the 3 crack files (2 plus 1 hidden), uninstalled the server, and installed it again, started the server, pressed the “yes” button in the upcoming error dialog box… and THEN opened the properties of XSI shortcut on my desktop (target: X:\Softimage\XSI_6.5\Application\bin\XSI.bat) and put it in compatibility mode with “Win 2000”; And finally XSI got to start-up like a dream with no problems or errors what so ever untill this moment! :D

I had a problem like yours in my older XP, but not about XSI! One of my services used by a software couldn’t connect to localhost and as a result it would get stock. I never figured out a way to solve it… :( I hadn’t had that problem in XP SP1. I installed a newer version of XP SP2, and it didn’t have that problem at all. I’ve also run XSI on the new XP SP3 successfully.
Note that a firewall, antispy etc. might be blocking connections to localhost.
Or it might be cuased of not having an ethernet or LAN card causing problems for dongle simulation functions.
And I suggest you read ALL the comments above!
Finally running a maintenance pack like TuneUp Utilities or getting the latest updates for your OS might help!

I think the crack is fine with windows xp 64 bit, I use it from here, and it works awesome, no problem, work so smoothly :)

it works fine now, I had the trial version of softimage installed and it didnt work, just download the one posted on the link and the crack should be working just fine!

TO THOSE UNABLE TO START/STOP LICENSE SERVER IN VISTA:
RIGHT CLICK ON THE LICENSE SERVER ICON AND CHOOSE “RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR” AND ON THE WARNING MESSAGE, CLICK “ALLOW”.
NOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO START/STOP THE SERVER DAEMON.
HOPE THAT HELPS.
Make sure if you have DEP turned on in Vista that you add spmd.exe to the allowed list. Worked like a charm once added.
