AfterBurn 4.0 delivers rendering speed improvements, workflow enhancements and modularity/extensibility.

Here is a short list of what?s new in AfterBurn 4.0:

– New AfterBurn Shadow Map brings a great speed improvement without significant shadow quality loss. Speed improvement over Raytraced Shadows in AfterBurn 3.2 can be more than a factor of five for dynamic scenes and even up to factor of ten for static cloud animations.

– AfterBurn no longer needs special type of shadows to be able to calculate self-shadowing effect as it supports standard light?s interface for atmospheric shadows (light?s ?Atmosphere Shadows? option).

– FusionWorks support. AfterBurn will properly blend with FumeFX, ScatterVL Pro and Standard 3ds max Fog. FusionWorks support also brings output to FusionWorks Z-Depth Render Element as well as output to non-clamped colors, used in .exr, or .hdr file formats.

– AFC View is a new workflow improvement that allows users to edit all AFCs and Gradients from one place.

– Geometry Clipping option enables that particles that are contained inside geometry do not render outside of it.

– Completely reworked built in noise types are now in form of a plug-ins for AfterBurn that can also be developed by 3rd parties. New 3D Texture Map allows users to use 3ds max 3D Map as a noise generator inside AfterBurn.

– AfterBurn Daemons user interface is displayed directly inside AfterBurn UI.

– New Cebas? ThinkingParticles controller that allows using TP?s channels to replace AfterBurn values.

– New max script functionality.

  13. Hi everybody! Im trying to install Fumex V1.0A and AfterBurn V4 for max 2008 but one error appears wen i’m opening the 3dmax.
    “FumeFx.dlo and FumeFx_PF.dlo” Failed to initialize
    Can anybody help me to install correctly both plugins without problems?

    “Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.”

    I’m the admin on my machine so this shouldnt be the issue. Need help to authorize file.

    I try to install Afterburn 4.
    I follow the step and open the keygen.
    Click generate, the (Authorization Code) appear but in the serial number is write (Serials are in the Clipboard).
    I search and I don’t find it.
    Where is the Clipboard ?

    Just after it generate the seriel (copy to clipboard means u can just paste it) ur system already reads it.

    Anyways here is my problem. i downloaded 4.0 but cannot authorize it, I dont even know how to install the XF-DCPFLICS14-KG.exe, I even turn off my antivirus, still it wont register, I used the DCPFLICS keygen but this is only for 3.2 and will not go through with it. Help!!!

  21. hi guys i had a problem authorizing afterburn after installing dreamscape with the DCPflics utility.. i found the answer at different site.. so if u keep receiving error messages try this

    Open the DCPflics utility (~Program Files\DCPFLICS\DCPFLICS_tools.exe) to see if the license is installed and the the service is running..

    You can make a backup of the license (DCPFLICS.lic) in that folder, shut down the service, move/rename the license, restart the service, start max, try and re-register all the plugins. If it doesn’t work just replace the license backup. No harm no foul, if the plugins re-register successfully well then your up and running.

  24. You cant switch off avg from the tray. there is an exotic way to disable it but I just uninstalled it and installed avira because you can disable that. This get you past the install. the problem starts when the dpcflics registration returns [localhost] Error connecting to the socket []. You cant generate a license to register and use the keygen. Upon clicking authorize dcpflics returns the same error. With windows firewall disabled and even with zonealarm off (and with it on granting all priviages to anything remotely resembling connection to the plug it still wont work. Version 3.2 or 4.

    If everything else fails check max itself has firewall privilages. Doesnt have to be server but at least acess. Hope this helps as the dcpflics is used for alot of plugs it seems.

    Plese help!

    When I run Afterbun 4.0 from
    3DSMAX > Render > Enviroment > AfterBurn
    It pop up window which is for registration, I go there and I do all is written in crack files, but it wont work.

    It says : Make sure DCPFlics is running
    and properly configured (???????????)
    How can I know if its running? And how can I know to configurate it properly???

    Later in text it says:
    Make sure the DCPFLICS settings are correct and click on generate.
    From where should I check if DCPFLICS settings are correct if Im not sure it its running at all?

    read manoman’s post. Uninstall your Anti Virus this will let you access your DCPFLICS. Otherwise check ftako’s post to know whether or not your DCPFLICS is running properly. Thats all it is. I got mine working now!!!

  28. Hi! It’s me again :(

    Now there are changes, but still not working.
    The thing is that when I open DCPFLICS Tools 1.0
    on Service Tab it says:

    Instalation: DCPFLICS installed
    Status: Service is running
    Guest(s) allowed: everyone
    Port number: 4002

    But when I go under the LICENSES tab under License(s) it says: No licenses were found!

    And then I was looking under c:\Program files\DCPFLICS
    and there is no DCPFLICS.lic file

    Any Idea what I should od next?

    The afterburn 4.0 for 3ds 2009 64-bit links are actually links to Afterburn 4.0 for 3ds 2008 64-bit. Although the file name states it’s for 3ds 2009 64-bit, the installer is for 2008 64-bit.

    sooo…. does anyone have an installer for Afterburn 4.0 for 3ds Max 2009 64-bit?

    How do I get it to install for 3ds 2009 64-bit? do I just move the plug-in to the 2009 directory? because it installs it in a folder for 2008.

    during install just select 3dsmax 2009 plugin folder instead of 3dsmax 2008 :)

  34. the FumeFx 1.1a 64 .. dont work… then i try to install it on my Vista64 with my 3ds max 2009 (64) .. it tells me it can found 3ds max… then i select the folders manual… it installed
    but then start 3ds max after the installtion i get many errors.. thats say that the pluging can#t be load ….
    so… anyone know who to fix this problem ?
    and yes.. its 100 % the 64bit version of FumeFX 1.1 and the 64Bit version of MAX 2009..

  36. allright guys for those who are confused and dunno what clipboard is and where it is as I was READ THIS!

    once you have clicked the generate button and u get the message that serial is in the clipboard u need to open microsoft office word 2007 well thats what I have now…..soon as u open the microsoft word u will see on the left side on top toolbar a clipboard button and there is your serial number!!!!! Serial number is huge thats why it is in the clipboard!!!!

    And the other thing is that I’m trying to authorize Afterburn 4.0 for MAX 2009 so as Dream Scape 2.5 and when I click on “authorize” nothing shows…only this little screen that has “navigation to the web page canceled” and there is nowhere to click…something shows up for under a second and it disappears…HELP ME…

  43. I managed to input the serial no and and the Authorization Code but when i click authorise, it return DCPFLICS activation screen and it write: (localhost) license doesnt exist

    it seem that either the coding is wrong or the DCPFLICS couldnt generate a license.

    When I try to render from
    3DSMAX > Render > Enviroment > AfterBurn 4.0

    it says that:
    MSG 0.0 error: Atmospheric “AfterBurn” is not supported.
    MSG 0.0 error: Atmospheric “FusionWorks Renderer” is not supported.
    MSG 0.0 warn : Displacement is ON and set to view-dependent, but the view being rendered is orthographic. View-dependent displacement does not work with orthographic views.

    What should I do?
