This is a Focused “making of” during which James Busby attempts to explain a lot of the working practices and techniques used to create the photorealistic “Patient” character, illustrated with Videos and images. Also included at the bottom of the article is a link to the scene file, which includes a version of the scene with a frozen mesh and all the textures in JPG format at full resolution. Focusing on Texturing, Shading, Lighting, Rendering, and grading, this is a valuable resource for any lightwave character modeler.

RockGen is a free Plugin for Maxons Cinema 4D. With this plugin you can easily create random rocks.
The process of creation is very in intuitive, controlled by a few parameters. Also, RockGen creates
Materials automatically. Those contain one of three included textures in different channels
for creating a maximum of realism.
Extract the RockGen folder into your Cinema4D\plugins folder, start/restart Cinema 4D.
Place the unzipped ‘Maxwell’ folder in your Cinema 4D ‘plugins’ directory such that the structure looks like this:
+ Cinema 4D
+ doc (folder)
– Maxwell for Cinema 4D.cdl
– Maxwell for Cinema 4D.cdl64
– Maxwell for Cinema 4D.dylib
+ res (folder)
