Autograss is your one-click grass solution for V-Ray

Select your object, click Autograss, and you’re done. You’ve got photorealistic grass that renders in V-Ray for 3ds Max.

Advanced multi-threaded memory management
Autograss uses Happy Digital’s advanced memory management system. That means Autograss uses only a fixed amount of RAM no matter how much grass is in the scene, whether it’s a one-acre lawn or an entire golf course. No crashes, no nonsense. Realistic grass presets
Autograss includes eleven preset grass types covering the most commonly used grasses. You don’t need to model any grass. The scientists at Happy Digital studied radiometrically calibrated photographs to ensure the grass presets have true-to-life shape and color when used with V-Ray’s physical cameras and sun / sky system, from sunrise to sunset. In addition to these presets, Autograss provides you with mapping and variation to produce special effects like worn-out trails and lawnmower paths.

  2. Guys, I installed the x64 version for max 2009 & it works. This is a great plugin, thanks a lot for your effort.

    My problem is, the rendering crashes at the end with Unhandled exception on the VRay message box. Does anyone know how I could fix that?

  10. you need vray sp4 al least to use autograss, your render will crash with lower version

  11. Ah, so this is why Autograss sales dropped by 50% in May. Thanks a lot guys. That’s some way to show your appreciation of a great product. I will post statistics here from time to time as a reminder of how much this is hurting the developers. I was surprised that the first month already dropped by almost exaclty 50% already. I will keep you informed about following months in case that’s a statistical anomoly.

    • Let’s see if I understand.

      You do not support hurting independent developers.

      You’ve hurt independent developers before (Solidrocks).

      You hurt independent developers again (Autograss).

      You’re terribly sorry about both times that you hurt independent developers.

      Did you know that if you keep doing something, that means you support it even if you say you don’t support it?

      Did you know that apologizing for doing something is meaningless if you keep doing it anyway?

      The damage has been done. So far, June sales are even worse than May. I’m not sure what there is to work out. Files cannot really be removed from the Internet and I do not have the resources to send takedown notices to all the file sharing sites every week.

      I’ll send you a pm because I’m curious about the cracking process. Then I will decide if I should release my next max plugin or if I should just shut down my company. I’m still really surprised how much this has affected sales.

      • it’s a tough one HD, maybe it’s better to sell 1000 copies @ $25 than 10 @ $275?

        Personally I think Autograss is great, although I have no need for it so have not used it for any projects, just had a bit of a look-see to find out how it worked and if it would be the kind of solution I would use, if required. I must say, it is a very cool plugin!

        Having said that it, needs more presets and is still a bit slow imho.

        But if I ever needed it for a commercial project, I would buy it unhesitatingly.

      I’ve downloaded the new link & the framework 4, but when I run the keygen I see an error about the version of framework.
      your link up the page is for framework 4, but the keygen requiers 4.0.30319
      help me through it if you can

    • it doesnt work.. when loading autograss plugin an error pops out.
      im using max2011 64bit + vray 2.0
      it seem that vray 2 is the problem… :(

  25. I cant get this to work?

    1) I got the Framework.
    2) I go install 64bit autograss (got windows7 64bit)
    3) I generate key.
    4) I copy the key in the installation window.

    Ps. I got cracked 3Ds max design 2011, cracked Vray 1.5 SP5.

  28. does anyone knows if there is an autograss version for vray 2.0 cause the same happened to me… error on loading on max 2010 – 64 bits!!!

    • No! it’s not working in Vray 2.0.0.2, i’ve tried it on 2 computers with 3ds max 2011 x64
