hmm, not the worsest post :-). Just a gimmick for me but i like to play with.
anyway, thanks a lot
thanks for sharing, may I ask what’s the advantage of this software compare to VUE?
Thanks to the uploader first of all.
Now as to your question…it’s not about comparing SOFTWARE PACKAGES;rather it’s about Art. I use to hate Bryce for lack of import/export files formats that they should have. The Software rocks back in the day and still rocks!…only if you know what you are doing with it then let along now. Now you can import and export FBX and COLLADA date files, including the import of Google SketchUp models or Spore creatures.
That to me is a big plus and I am gonna do what I always wanted to do with it(Bryce) without any pains!. I get to export/import now…Yaaaaaaa!.
Well thanks Striker for that useless reply… You can create “art” with both Vue and/or Bryce.
Is there anybody out there (besides Striker) that can answer WW’s question? I would like to know as well. Are both software packages pretty comparable? Or does one have an advantage over the other. I would like to learn one of these packages. I just don’t know which one yet. Thanks.
And thanks to T-mick for the post. Much appreciated.
Volcanus, in reply to your query about Bryce vs Vue, Bryce is more competitive in price, but will not do as well in things such as lighting and atmospherics. However, when it comes to making landforms Bryce knocks everything into a cocked hat. It has a lot more ready made fractals than Vue, and if you hit shift/picture in the terrain editor you can use the fractals from the texture editor as well. This gives you literally zillions of possible land forms, plus you can also use photo-shop filters in the terrains. Sky can be superb, but is paid for in render time, both of them are slooooowww! I prefer Bryce, as you might have guessed, but what it really comes down to is what you feel happy with. Both do a PLE, download and try. I’ve had Bryce since 2.0 and am very happy with it, one thing every-one says about Daz is that they do good product support, and there’s a very helpful community. So just download the PLEs and see which you like.
