If you?re a CG artist who has always been curious about Houdini, or if you are just wanting to brush up on your core skills and learn new techniques for working in Houdini 12, this is the class for you. Taught by John Moncrief, this course we will cover the fundamentals of working with Houdini. You will first learn the basic concepts and work-flow of Houdini, then work through the different contexts of the software in more detail by creating specific effects and solving real world production problems.
The majority of the concepts for this course apply to any version of Houdini, however this course will be taught using Houdini12 with special focus on the work-flow techniques and improvements available in this new version. You can work through all of this course using the free Apprentice version of Houdini available at sidefx.com.
John started working in VFX over ten years ago and has experience in Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, After Effects, Shake, Nuke, and just about every NLE you can think of. John just wrapped up 6 months working at Side Effects Software Inc. in Santa Monica where he created a library of Houdini training courses on FLIP fluids, DOPs and VOPs for industry professionals from various studios including Blizzard, Sony Entertainment and DreamWorks. He has one insane long-haired cat, horrible allergies, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Fine Art degree in Visual Effects at Savannah College of Art and Design.

I’ll start by admitting my ignorance about this matter, but I have to ask these uploaders (to which I thank them a lot):
why the heck do you even bother with these hosting sites and don’t upload directly via torrent on cgpeers?
Posting here would be so that people would know about it, but why the struggle? Waiting x seconds, completing stupid captcha, going to another hosting site because you’ve already downloaded a few files and now you have to wait 7 days before being able to DL another from the same website.
It’s mind boggling…
There’s a number of reasons for this.
A lot of people have premium accounts on these site and don’t really have to go through the whole captcha sh!t. The download speeds for these premium accounts is fast and instant. No waiting for letting the torrent mature and come alive via CGpeers.
Also, a lot of users have bandwidth caps and may download the files directly without having to spend their BW on ‘seeding’ them if dl’d via torrent. Hope that gave you some perspective.
Why do You ask these uploaders? You can go and buy a useful stuff and upload it directly via torrent on cgpeers!

Dear U.N Owen. First thanks for all the new stuff. The problem emerges when you get the membership and the host is closed for the next day. Download with torrent is more stable and more efficient both for the uploaders and the user since you download just one link and you don’t face broken links, closed sites and so on and so forth.

I do not have premium accounts with the file sharing websites so I’m forced to use captcha stupidity or torrents.
I far prefer torrents in my situation.
BUT as a person who has done this a long time..
And on dialup, captcha isn’t that bad. Trust me..
It could be a lot worse.
So either pony up the cash for one of the premiums, OMG like most of you probably say in real life and pay for the software, or stfu and accept what you are given.
It’s not like you are paying for the software like someone had to at one point to keep the companies alive.
Maybe a little maturity would go a long ways.

Hey guys, i dont know if im doing something wrong or not but can you actually download any of the tutorials from the three sites above for free? Ive been trying and no luck. And how does the Capacha work? Ive been anwering the most obvious questions on raoidgator like (get well= soon) and it keeps failing. I really need these tutorials Any help would be appreciated and thanks.
Warning: Be sure to scan all the downloaded files with your Antivirus and if there is an executable or installer file, make sure to have your antivirus active and open in the background while installing or running the app. Some of the materials posted here are downloaded from CGPeers, So they could potentially have something injected in them.
We always ask bloggers to scan all the files before publishing the posts, but sometimes it's hard to detect all these things, so if you found anything suspicious (Not false positive, Generic, Patcher, Riskware and Heuristic results, most patches could get false flags like that by some Antivirus companies.) be sure to post comments with the file name and a VirusTotal report result link or the file MD5 Hash (higher than 30% overall positive result).
