Hello guys ! I’m Florian BARD, senior FX TD freelance. I’ve taken some time to enhance my lightning setup to be more efficient in production, I’ve used overall the same technics while I was working on lightning effects on The Flash (with Weta Digital),

The setup allows you to control everything you need: motion, age, speed, noise, and variations. Additionally, the point count number does not change over time, making it perfect for slow motion and handling motion blur.

Note : the setup had been made in houdini 19. So if you open it in houdini 19.5 or later, you’ll get a slightly different result than the video, but it will work the same way with the exact same outputs.

You’ll get all you need to create lightnings in houdini + videos explaining the setup and how to use it (40 min x 4)
