GenHead is standalone software tool that is designed to enable both professional and amateur digital content artists to quickly and easily create 3D heads from 2D digital photographs.
GenHead ideally requires a front and profile photograph of the target. If a front profile is all that?s available GenHead will synthesis a profile. No special equipment is required, a standard digital camera (>4MP) will suffice. A little care in taking the pictures will help ensure you get the best possible 3D head.

GenHead then guides you through the process of turning your photos into a 3D head, so no experience is necessary. First of all you load the photos in, there is a preview so you can check you?ve got the right ones.

Next GenHead prompts you to correct any problems with the images in order to get the best possible result. You can correct their orientation and you may adjust the brightness and colour balance.

After that, GenHead asks you to place a series of markers around the face. An active Help window shows you where to place each marker, making it a simple process.

A new window is automatically loaded in which you will see your original 2D front and profile images in their own pane, and a seperate pane with the newly generated 3D head.

This whole process takes just a few minutes, then GenHead will generate the 3D head.

      • It won’t work on WinXP x32bit either. Buffer overflow message when trying to run. I followed the instructions exactly.
        I noticed that the supplied executable is much smaller than the program’s executable.

  2. Thank you reupload.Genhead working on xp.Cant load meshes in Gencrowd
    Tried to load meshes from genhead…no luck.Its a pity because this is the best and easiest of this type of software .Anyone knoe a workaround to load your own models? Thanks again reupload.

  4. Hi all,
    In WindowsXP 32bit *SP2* both GenHead and GenCrowd work OK.
    In WindowsXP 32bit *SP3* however, in two separate partitions, same computer, both GenHead and GenCrowd won’t run. I’ve suspected for some time that service pack 3 for XP contains a bot or built in trojan if you like which prevents apps from running where the the executable which is trying to run is not the same as the one which was installed – if you catch my drift.
    Any comments pls?

    Does not work on Windows 7 64bit – buffer overflow message
