So people who take the time to properly learn human anatomy and all its beauty are dumb asses? Who is the superior artist–he (or she if there were actually any girls in the industry) who can make a human from scratch and then add accessories, or he who can only make some basic stuff to lay over someone else’s procedurally generated mesh?

Since you’ve obviously haven’t been working in character design long enough to realize that time is a factor.
It’s good for quickly coming up with or sculpting out a ‘rough draft’ of what the character could look like before creating the character from scratch.
If you’re learning human anatomy, well then this could also serve as a good learning resource in assuring that your creations are proportionally correct.
In the end, to each their own.
In comparison to what I’ve described above, I for one don’t take this route since I have plenty of UNIVERSAL bases meshes that I’ve created myself for my own personal use in creating rough drafts of characters…
I forgot to mention that it’s also a valuable asset for those who are learning to animate and rig humanoid characters…
That’s what happened when they got their paws on Blender… People can think whatever they want, doesn’t change a thing in the professional circles.
Besides, the models in this app all look like stuff out of Poser, nearly useless for games since they border on copyright considerations and lack originality and character.
It’s a good base, but nothing to ruffle your feathers over.
Im a modeler since 1992….. nurbs, polymodeling, even annoying patch modeling… i even learned how to use the stupid lightwave?s “metanurbs” technollogy back then….and now, i master mudbox and zbrush along with 3ds max?s standard polymodeling tools….. but you know man??? …. i don?t feel the same way as you do.
To me…. this is a glorious tool that helps me in very tight schedulled productions in which i don?t have the time i need to propperly model a person with the standard tools.
I thank free software developers for tools as this.

You know what alpha is? There is still some work to be done so this soft can enter Beta stage. And then some more to enter first full release version. this is still an alpha, and has been for as long as i remeber, half of the menus are buggy and crashed after about 1,5 mins..

actually programs like these are great for doing pre-vis stuff. like when you need a shitty model to stand-in just to get a basic idea down. i would never use it for a final model. those i would always make from scratch.

Shit, Yo! This is old Ramen Noodle poop program. Roadmap mean mega diarrhea. Like Poser is to five foot Chinese poop shoot colon cleanser. Final models use pre-viz soft stool bomb. Daz Studio smell like grandma armpit hair with five month old yellow deodorant chuck.
