Why would anyone want to make liquid simulations in Maya when there is Softimage, Houdini or Realflow? Dinosaurs like this Lynda guy would have no choice probably…
If you already own and know a software then why would you NOT want to do it in that software? If you can produce a good enough result without leaving your favorite app then that’s better than fiddling around with Houdini or other “better” software when you don’t need to.
