After Effects CC and Photoshop CC. It’d be best to use the latest releases, but not completely necessary. In order to open project files included with the course, you’ll need the latest versions; however, the techniques and principles taught can be utilized on any version of After Effects and Photoshop. In some instances, 3rd party plugins are used to speed up processes, but these are not necessary in any course. For this particular course, the plugins, Red Giant Universe, Trapcode Particular, and Video Copilot’s Optical Flares and Saber are used. In most cases, there are free trials of these 3rd party plugins available.
