This course is ideal to anyone wanting to transition from Maya & Ziva to using Houdini as-well as Houdini experts wanting to dive deeper into Skin, Tissue, Fascia and Muscle Simulation in Houdini.

The course material was prepared with production and high-quality assets that will be included as part of the course material along with the various animation caches shown in the trailer to give our students the best learning experience that mimics a studio working environment.

Carlos will share his production-proven workflow used on feature films and TV shows, covering advanced techniques with Vellum and SOP-level tools to create realistic skin wrinkling, jiggling, and efficient skin sliding effects.

Note: This course includes a nice transition guide for Maya user who are brand new to Houdini.

We will learn the basics knowledge of maya, focusing on character building

WEEK 1 | CFX Simulation
We will learn basic knowledge of Houdini and how it can be used in a creature simulation workflow

WEEK 2 | Simulation For CFX
We will learn how vellum works, focused on character work

WEEK 3 | Muscles in Houdini
We will learn how we can work with muscles, tissues and fat simulation for characters

WEEK 4 | CFX setup part 1
This week we will continue the setup for the creature, focusing on back legs and belly

WEEK 5 | CFX setup part 2
This week we will continue the setup for the creature, focusing on back legs and belly

WEEK 6 | Shot 010
This week we will start the shot work, working on the first shot of the trailer

WEEK 7 | Shot 030
This week we will finish the shot work, working on a fast moving shot

WEEK 8 | Shot 040
Large scale simulation and working with large creatures.
