Learn how to create Sci-fi INSPIRED FX In Houdini.
In this course, you’ll learn how to master Houdini intricate Sops & Dops based workflows to create well balanced & scifi themed FX.
WEEK 1
Course overview, project setup, and workflow for developing the robot cloaking FX.
WEEK 2
Continue developing the cloaking FX with pyro transitions, lightning FX, and particle advection. Set up LOPs render passes and conduct RnD compositing using Copernicus.
WEEK 3
Create FX layers for shot 9, including tracer fire using PrimUV’s, muzzle flash fire from volumes, and debris and sparks from particles.
WEEK 4
Continue developing shot 9 with thruster emitter volume and animation, thruster pyro simulation, and LOPs render setup for the generated FX.
WEEK 5
Develop procedural shield geometry, create shield destruction using RBDs, design custom pyro emitter, and integrate pyro and particle advection.
WEEK 6
Create laser beam FX layers, implement ground destruction with RBDs, design custom lightning using VOPs and VEX, and craft shockwave FX with pyro and particle advection.
