1) Follow the installation order of folders, from 01 > 03
2) Install the DotNet runtimes, especially “windowsdesktop-runtime-9.0.5-win-x64.exe” for keygen to work, else it will open and close when launched.
3) Extract WorldCreator_2026_1.zip (eg. C:\WorldCreator)
4) Launch WorldCreator.exe (block the file from connecting to the net), login screen will show up. Close the app.
5) Run Keygen to generate the user.lic file.
6) Copy user.lic to “C:\Users\Username\Documents\World Creator\Versions\2026_1”
For some the “Documents” folder could be inside OneDrive folder.

I think so this step it is poorly explain: 4) (block the file from connecting to the net),
It means open windows firewall and add a rule to block the software from connecting to the internet. You might as well Just disable the internet and try to install.
SEARCH (bottom center of screen on TASKBAR, by magnifying glass) > type the word FIREWALL> select: Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.
Select outbound RULES, and under ACTIONS (far right pane) select NEW RULE
> Program
> NEXT
> This Program Path (navigate to your World Creator install directory and select the .exe), choose OPEN (window will close)
> Block the Connection
>Next
> Name: World Creator
> Finish
That’s how you block all your progz- by creating a new OUTBOUND rule just like I showed you here.
Update: Even blocked, it won’t start- stopping at login screen, so there is something still “calling home”, but once I disconnect wifi, the program starts normally. We have to figure out what else needs blocking.
Also, in preferences there is no way to block internet access, so it’s not gonna be that easy.
Block it with windows firewall Does NOT work , I have to disable internet , Then i can open it .
But there has no content in Templates Menu and Samples Menu.
Might just have to use 2025.3, or install it, copy assets over to 2026 folder, and go from there.

Don’t use windows firewall it will leak the connection. Use a stronger program like Fort Firewall or Simplewall

Just wanted to leave a reply to say thanks for the recommendation. Using Fort Firewall worked for me. I already had it blocked in Windows to no avail. But your comment helped out. I’ll be sticking with this from now on.
Guys when I press “Denoiser” inside the software the view port turns bitch black. Is this some problem with the software or what?
