i like that there’s no install instructions.
I agree that was a bit disappointing.
First I downloaded The Foundry Nuke Studio 16.1v1.Win64. In that version you have the file FLT7.1v1-win-x86-release-64.exe. And it has the xf_foundry.lic. I notice that file has the host information, mac and the port header that is missing from nuke 17 lic file. So i copy the header information from xfroce one to the nuke 17 with my computer settings and saved it as foundry.lic.
1. Install Nuke 17.
2. install FLT7.1v1-win-x86-release-64.exe
3. copy content of the folder Nuke17.0v1 into nuke folder and replace all.
4. Stop the foundry RLM server.
5 copy the edited RLM foundry.lic and placed it into C:\ProgramData\The Foundry\RLM folder.
6. start the RLM server back up
7. Enjoy.
Hope this was helpful.
I came to report my trial and error had got it working last night, and I was planning to post exactly this same thing!
Ironically, this is the easiest Nuke crk I’ve ever seen, especially compared to the previous version, which was a nightmare that wouldn’t let me uninstall the old FLM thing, so then I also couldn’t install the newer version, and it seemed the newer version wasnt working with the previous version crk. Was a mess.
Let me say thanks to the poster of Nuke 17.
**** I install this on a machine that has no RLM server at all. And I did not install the FLT7.1v1-win-x86-release-64.exe
UPDATE:
the install is more simple than my last post.
1. Install Nuke
2. copy content of the folder Nuke17.0v1 into nuke folder and replace all.
3. I had to create the folder ” C:\ProgramData\The Foundry\RLM” and put in my edited foundry.lic in it.
4. Enjoy.
No need to install anything that does not come with the original post. And no RLM server is needed.
not works for me
could you provide an example of the .lic file? I’m not too keen on going through the pain of downloading a whole other version just to find a .lic template. tia! :)
