How do I come to the Luxion_License_Server folder?
But, I can’t get it to connect to license server using any of the available info returned by ipconfig, so that’s as far as I got. Gotta stick with v 2025.3 until someone figures this out. Kinda like the bad Max 2027 crk and bad Vray 7.3 crk, and, and, and… =D
Never mind the previous. I got it running like 10 mins later. How? Again, not in the info….
You have to manually start the Keyshot Flexnet license server via lmtools util in (drive letter:\folder\Luxion KeyShot Studio Enterprise 2026.1 v15.0.0.174 (x64) Multilingual\medicine\Luxion_License_Server) directory (Start/Stop/Reread tab: Start Server)
Then you can run the .exe and it works.
Any isues finding the right HOSTID, just look under System Settings in that lmtools utility, and try each one until one works.

Hi, thanks for your better instructions so far. I don’t really get the “server” part though (when you talk about manually starting the Keyshot Flexnet licence server). May I ask you to give us a detailled intructions for that please ? The initial crk instructions are … blurry to say the least. There is quite a lot of .exe in the medicine/Luxion_Licence_Server I don’t know which execute exactly.

I don’t know who’s instructions are worst, the original from the WhiteDeath, or the comments. Can’t you guys write like normal people. Like preschool level would be enough. Cheeeez!
Can someone help me? I can’t undestand what I have to do? The instruction aren’t clear.. :-(

The instructions are still like crap here. Missing a lot of details.
Here’s what worked for me:
1. Install Keyshot
2. Setup license server:
(In general, the info in the license here is basically just rerouting to your own device’s Name and Macaddress)
2.1 Copy the Luxion_License_Server folder wherever you want, it doesn’t need to be C:/ (I copied mine next to the keyshot folder)
2.2 Then start the lmtools.exe inside it first
2.3 When the tool opens, check the “System Settings”-tab in it and see the “Computer/Hostname” and the “Ethernet” lines.
2.4. Next to where you have the lmtools.exe, there should be a keyshot.lic file. Open it with a text-editor
2.5 In the first line of that file, it says: SERVER localhost ANY
2.6 Replace the localhost with the Computer/Hostname you saw earlier
2.7 Replace the ANY with the number/letter combination you saw in Ethernet (it’s the same as your device’s MAC address)
2.8 Save the keyshot.lic file and close the LMTOOLS again for now
2.9 Then run the server_install.bat (the only thing this does, is to set the path to the .lic file in the LMTools, so you also can do that manually in the “config services”-tab in the tool if you want, but it’s more convenient to just run the bat)
3. Copy .dll files:
3.1 Inside the medicine folder, there is a KeyshotStudio folder which has a bin folder in it
3.2 Either copy the entire bin folder into your Keyshot installation folder or just copy the ksystemutil.dll and ksystemutil_gui.dll files into the bin folder of your installation
3.3 In either way, you’ll get a prompt asking you if you want to replaced the 2 files, confirm that
4. Run the license server
4.1 The server possibly already runs by now, but to be sure, start the LMTools
4.2 Check the “Server Status” Tab and press “Perform Status Enquiry”
4.3 It should tell you how many licenses are issued and are in use. This is already a good sign that it’s running and working as intended. If it says anything else, most likely your entries in the licenses files were not done properly (go back to step 2)
4.4 If still unsure, go to the “Start/Stop/Reread”-tab and ReRead the License File. If successful it tell you “Reread Server License File Completed” at the bottom
4.5. You also could Stop and Start the server from here. It should go without problems if the license info is correct
5.Start Keyshot
5.1 You’ll get a welcome-prompt, uncheck the flag to participate in any data collection
5.2 The next prompt asks to sign in or select a perpetual license. Select perpetual license
5.3 In the next popup, select floating license
5.4 In the name, enter your Computer/Hostname you see in the LMTools (System Settings). The @ at the beginning is added automatically
5.5 Keyshot should open up now without problems
6. Disable auto update
6.1 Open Edit -> Preferences
6.2 Look for General and disable the “Auto update” flag (and optionally the “Show welcome window at start up” flag if you want

I’m using the Windows 10 2022 Update Version 22H2 image; in this case, you need to install:
VC_redist.x64.exe
VC_redist.x86.exe
downloaded from the Microsoft website (latest versions).
I also had to remove ‘USE’ from the licence file.
It used to be:
DAEMON LUXION
USE SERVER
It works for me without ‘USE’:
DAEMON LUXION
SERVER
