Flow Render Tech Preview
Arnold 7.5.2.0 includes a Tech Preview of Flow Render, an Arnold cloud-rendering solution. We are providing 2400 minutes (per user, per month) of rendering time to Arnold users for testing and evaluating the service.
Supported formats: You can load Gaussian splat data from a .ply file by setting the points node file_name parameter to a PLY. You can also supply splat data directly as per-point arrays on a points node.
Lighting and shading: Render Gaussian splats with the gaussian_splat_shader node. The shader has two components: emission, the original unlit SH-color look, and diffuse, for relighting. By default, gaussian splats render with emission only, but for relighting you can increase the diffuse weight to have splats respond to scene lights via path tracing.
Improved quality of noice denoiser: Previously, the noice denoiser could produce overly-blurred denoised images even with sufficient samples. This noice improvement also fixes occasional black pixel artifacts introduced by the denoiser. The variance parameter on the noice imager has been renamed to filter_strength; the old name is still accepted as a synonym. The standalone tool’s –variance/-v flags are kept as aliases for –filter_strength/-k.

Known Issues:
Cinema 4D crashes hard when trying to create an Arnold Light. This started with C4DtoA v4.9.1.2 and Arnold v7.5.1.2.
