What you will learn
In this series of tutorials I’ll teach you how get started modeling precast concrete structures in
Revit 2014.

We’ll begin by getting our grids, levels and reference planes in place. Once we’ve set the stage for
the project, we’ll begin placing foundations and columns. You’ll learn how to use the mirror and
copy tools to speed up your modeling work flow and reduce some of the complexity involved in
modeling structures. We’ll explore how to accurately place corbels and beams at the right
elevations. And finally, we’ll learn how incorporate a double-T flooring system into our building
design.

With these tools, tips and strategies you’ll be able model precast structures of your own in no
time.

What you will learn
In this series of tutorials we will learn how to create HDRI environments for 3D lighting and use them in Maya and V-Ray to light a 3D asset.Throughout the training we will cover the whole lighting process and creating a complete shot from scratch. We will start shooting HDRI on set and we will finish the final shot in NUKE, integrating a 3D asset in a real environment. By the end of this tutorial you will be able to shot your own HDRI panoramas and create 3D light rigs to light your own projects.

In this series of tutorials, we will learn the new features available in NUKE 8.0. With this release, there are lots of changes for speeding up your workflow and making all things color related much more intuitive and rich. NUKE 8.0 has done a lot to save you the time of having to jump back into a 3D application to fix or export things you need for your composite. With the addition of the EditGeo node and wireframe render options, you can stay in NUKE and get on with your project. New features like in panel color wheels, the Pixel Analyzer panel, and Scopes will be sure to make your grading and color correcting workflow much more streamlined. There have also been huge improvements made to the Dope Sheet as well as the Text Node. By the end of this course, you will have a firm grasp on what’s new in NUKE 8.0, keeping you ahead of the curve.

Previous post of this tutorial was mislabeled and a different tutorial.

In this After Effects tutorial we will learn how to key a greenscreen using multiple layers to capture as much detail as possible. Using multiple layers and keyers, we will be able to focus our efforts and create a better final matte. We will begin the tutorial by importing our footage into After Effects and analyzing the job ahead of us. Then we will create garbage masks to break apart our person into manageable pieces. We will then add Keylight effects to our layers to create an initial key. After that, we will analyze the best way to remove noise on each layer. Then we will fill in our alpha by creating a core matte. Finally we will focus on the hair and all the detailed roto and keying work involved. We will complete the project by doing some heavy-duty rotoscoping work on the bottle.

In this tutorial you’ll learn to run and energy simulation using Revit 2014. We’ll begin with a simple massing concept with floors that have already been massed in place. From there, we’ll set a few parameters associated with our building and site like location and target glazing percentage. Once, we’ve defined our project and location, we’ll then run an energy simulation to understand our designs potential carbon footprint as well as our annual and life cycle energy consumption costs. These tools used early in the design process can get your concept on the path?to sustainability with ease.

While today?s game systems have made drastic improvements in terms of asset resolution, there are still limits. Sometimes creating texture maps for low resolution assets can be a challenge because less polygonal detail often means more detail that the texture artist has to come up with in their textures. This course goes over the process for painting both diffuse and specular maps for our low polygon game weapon. To start things out, we will dive in and begin to paint a base texture for many of the surfaces on the weapon. Whether it?s a tarnished metal surface or a painted surface, we will learn how to add texture in layers starting at the bottom. From here we?ll continue to add detail to our diffuse texture by painting things like scuffs and scratches followed by dirt. After completing the diffuse, we?ll move on to the specular map where we?ll learn how we can repurpose and modify some of our diffuse layers to map out the specular highlights on our weapon. To wrap things up we?ll learn how to flatten and save our texture maps out of Photoshop. After completing this course, you will have a fully textured game asset that is ready to be brought into your game engine.

What you will learn
In this series of tutorials, we will go beyond the usual basics of emitting bursts or trails of particles, and create full blown fireworks. We will start by using the ’emit’ command to give us extra control over how particles are emitted. We will see how it is possible to use both ramps and expressions to achieve certain effects, like sparkling or flashing particles. We will make extensive use of particle expressions, including some basic vector math and the ‘rot(0’ function, to achieve complex behaviours such as ring-shaped emission and tightly spiralling motion. By the end of this course you will have everything you need to create complex and exciting dynamic fireworks.
