In this Maya 2012 training video, experienced author and 3D modeller Lee Lanier introduces you to the 3D modelling and animation program, Maya. Created by AutoDesk (well known for their CAD software), and used by heavyweights such as Industrial Light and Magic, Electronic Arts and more, Maya is a complete and powerful 3D program. Starting with the basics, Lee takes you through the interface of Maya. As this tutorial on Maya 2012 continues, you will learn how to model using NURBS and Polygons. You will learn about rendering, lighting, and texturing your objects. Lee also shows you how to animate your 3D models. Bump mapping, Raytracing, using Mental Ray, and projecting 2D maps are just a few of the other subjects covered. By the completion of this computer based training course, you will be fully versed in the basic tools and capabilities of Maya, and ready to create, animate and render your own 3D models! Working files are included to allow you to work alongside the author using the very same projects as in the training video.

Digital-Tutors : Rigging the Human Face in Maya 2011
6 hrs. 45 min. |Released on May 2, 2011 |Project Files Included (135 MB)
Required Software: Maya 2011 and up

In this collection of lessons we will learn about a wide variety of useful tools and techniques for rigging a human face.

This course covers tools and techniques for rigging the human face in Maya. Throughout the course we will focus on providing animators with the control they need to create natural expressions with a control rig that computes fast. We will also creatively explore several techniques and tools that can be used to create realistic deformations. Step by step, we will construct a facial control system that is robust and animator-friendly. We will learn everything from how to create a reverse-jaw rig, rigging with curves for flexibility, how to create sticky controls, fleshy eyes, and we will also cover how to set up preset expressions for fast animation.

Why only one installer? Well, we decided not only to exceed esanti’s crap release by fixing fur, distributed rendering, etc etc, but we also created an all-in-one installer. Pre cracked! All you need to do is select which version you want and where you wish to install it. That’s it!

We’ve found some funky workings with 2008, please report any bugs with it here. It should still work perfectly fine.

Topics include:

* Laying out the scene
* Sketching particles on a Live object
* Connecting particles to Fields such as Gravity
* Emitting particles from particles
* Varying particle shader attributes
* Modeling and shading for the Particle Instancer
* Importing and instancing geometry onto particles
* Randomizing particle rotation with Creation and Runtime Expressions
* Adding Turbulence
* Rendering depth of field with mental ray
* Creating 3D Fluid containers
* Emitting dynamic fluid attributes from an object
* Animating a dynamic fluid

Digital-Tutors: Substance Procedural Texturing in Maya 2012

In this series of lessons we will be exploring the Substance procedural texturing system included with Maya.
With Substance, we no longer have to rely on the time-consuming process of acquiring and manipulating photographs to suit our texturing needs. Substance allows us to procedurally generate textures that are highly realistic and highly customizable. This course will cover essential topics such as applying and modifying Substance textures, understanding the limitations and potential complications you may run into when using Substance textures, and how we can work around these.
We will also learn how to create our own custom Substance textures, and how to extend the functionality of Substance through the use of 3rd-party plugins.
10 videos in this course

1. Introduction and project overview
2. Loading the Substance plugin for Maya
3. Creating Substance textures in Maya
4. Connecting and disconnecting Substance nodes
5. Controlling Substance texture resolution
6. Substance texture placement in Maya
7. Baking Substance textures in Maya
8. Using the Bitmap2Material plugin
9. Using the Maya Substance Bonus Tools
10. Rendering Substance textures in mental ray

Xfrog 5 for Maya 2012 (Win/Linux/Mac)

Xfrog 5 adds many new Procedural Objects to Maya. By combining these with Maya components/objects you can create a wide variety of organic models and animations based on the building blocks of Nature.
These powerful Xfrog tools are added to your Maya modeling shelf :

Branch Object – Create multi-level branching structures with extremely realistic growth. Animate from seed to adult tree.

Phyllotaxis Object – Arrange components using the mathematical “golden section”. e.g. a sunflower’s petals and seed patterns.

Hydra Object – Arranges components in user defined specialized circular patterns. a wide variety of uses.

Curvature Object – Creates Splines which can be used as a basis for naturally curved leafs or twigs. A very powerful addition to Maya.

Variation Object – Combine different Objects with the Branch, Phyllotaxis and Hydra Objects, for example you can use different leaves scattered throughout a tree, or any sort of variations that you need for higher realism.

Tropism Object – Robust Photo and Gravitropism Simulator which pulls the entire hierarchy towards gravity and towards light, with infinite user controls over animation and strength.

Thanks to X-FORCE for the older keygen
