Hey guys! i have been unable to install the renderman, as soon as i try to load it (after inst) in maya plugin, it ask for online activation & maya crashes. I guess it did not get patched, while installing in Pixar license generator & patch window, patch works fine, showing 9 files got patched(Maya 7.0) but when i click create license it shows “Can’t open pixar.license for writing, are you in the right directory??”
I would really appreciate any help.

Render Studo worked fine but with a strange limitaion: Mtor.
When MTOR plugged-in, no functions can be used on its menu.
Compeltely deaf and blind. There is an option in the Maya export file list: MTOR_Rib file can be exported, but NO MENU works in MTOR except those with subdiv function.
After reinstalling everything rendering can be accomplishied through Mayaman ONLY. The renderview in Maya freezes after one or two successful frame renders. OPPSSS!
Any similar experences? Anyway rendering renderview panel takes too long until it starts. I think the program saves a temporary file somewhere where it is not allowed too.
During installation I used my computername as it is in FlexLm utility but the Maitre on localhost. No alfred can be started.
Okay, I figured out what’s wrong with the crack, it only works when your offline, it worked for me, in maya, when I was offline; but as soon as you connect to the internet and try to activate the plug-in through maya, it automatically connects to the internet and ask for the license details, so right now I’m trying to figure out what to block through the vista firewall.
I blocked all the license apps etc, but still it asked for the license….anyone got any ideas on which program to block???

I have tried about 6 times to get it working and am getting stuck every time, I install the licence server, Renderman pro server and renderman for maya 2008 i then put the patch gen into my pixar folder, I run it, I get the success message and then I press the patch button also I get the 9 files patches message. I then copy the pixar licence exe from the cracked folder and put into the licence 5.0.2 folder and then copy the licence from the 5.0.2 folder and put it into the renderman studio 2008 rmantree etc folder, then reboot.
Every time I go to my plugins folder and try to turn the pixar renderman studio plugin on It crashes slim licence blah blah blah cannot be found or something like that message comes up then fatal error then maya crashes whats happening ??? can anybody help ?

ok, this is really f***ing me off, would someone who has gotten the crack to work post some decent f***ing instuctions! the text file included is way to vague.

– ran “Pixar_License-la_5.0.2_Win32.vc8-SSE2.msi”
– unrar’ed “Pixar-crack-win32.rar” into c:\program files\pixar
– ran “pixar_gen_patch-win32.exe”
– put my ethernet/mac address into the host name box, and clicked “create licence” (all gd so far)
– clicked “patch files”, and the dialog box at the bottom says:
“None of the expected files were found below this directory.
Are you sure you ran this in the main pixar directory or used the default location?”
even though i’m in the pixar folder!

i had the same issue, i just copy and pasted the actual patch gen into the pixar folder and it worked fine. I just couldnt load the plugin because i get the slim licence that cant be found error.

Hey people, I’m still having the same problem, could some one tell me if “RenderManForMaya8.5-2.0” is the name of the folder inside the pixar folder, just wandering because I got my install file off of the torrents, and found the crack here afterwards.
If anybody sees something else, tell me so I can try temporarily changing the folder name, and see if that works
i installed PRman for maya 8.5, followed the installation instructions but i keep on getting license server exe error and i can’t load the plugin inside maya. pc runs on windows xp ,AMD athlon processor

I had also some problemes but i fixed them, here is my way:
If Maya pop up that license information and crashes, it mean that your “pixarlicenseserver.exe” don’t run at the moment.
In that case you’ve entered the wrong hostname in the pixar_gen_patcher(because of that the licenseserver crashes). To check your host data you can run the “pixarhostid.exe” on your CMD for example. It has to be something like this: “0**********0,PX0************3 Home1”
The first number is the mac adress, the second is a pixar number in my opinion and the third is you computername.
If you enter this host data in the pixar_gen_patcher (with the comma inside!) you have to start the licenseserver manually again he will also run at autostart and you can use renderman :)

Also, has anyone tried using an environment light and rendering with ProServer? I can’t get the IBL to work?

go to run, type cmd then drag pixarhostid.exe onto the console then press enter in the console, wil return the name of your pc and the Ethernet address, you should deactivate your other network connections otherwise renderman picks up two addresses = bad.
install the license utility last, and when you install the other two at the prompt type in the name of your pc replacing “local host ” leave the port thats fine then install the licence util here local host is grayed out, thats ok. Basicly you then need to just enter the name of ur pc in the crack, hit generate, then patch. Then do the rest as in the instructions you dont need to enter the ethernet address, but the name of your pc. just make sure only one is displayed when you type in cmd ipconfig/all.

Uninstall it
Reboot
Install Pixar_RenderMan_Studio_1.0.1-maya2008_i686.icc91.msi
and replace plugins directory with the upper one.
Fur and hair will work for both mtor and renderman for maya

Just a good advise (it took 3-4 days from my life until I found the reason)
Some Antivrus and security programs may cause RfM a certain instability.
Eg. ESET NOD32 blocked sometimes my rendering thread. The first render always worked but further tries didnt.
So, teke care what u use for antivirus protection. In my case Rfm and Kaspersky in the hood works fine…..
Hi, anybody know why slim volume shader’s don’t work.
I connect volume fog to a nurbs go inside, put a new volumespot within, doFog and go on….as it is in tutorials…But renders only a white sphere…

Can someone please give instructions on how to crack renderman 2.0 for maya 8.5 on Mac OSX?
crack installation info:
DO NOT REBOOT YOUR MACHINE BEFORE YOU FINISHED THE WHOLE INSTALLATION PROCESS
1. Install license server, RPS 13.5.2 and RMS 1.01 for Maya 7.0, 8.5 or 2008.
(You will have a Window popping out asking to enter some informations to get your license, just close that window)
2. Put the license gen/patcher in your c:\Program Files\Pixar or whereever it was installed.
3. Run the license gen and patcher. Be sure none of the pixar programs are running (or they won?t be patched)
4. Copy the cracked PixarLicenseServer.exe to the license-5.0.2 directory.
5. Copy pixar.license from license-5.0.2 to RMS1.0.1/rmantree/etc
6. Reboot

My first problem was because I have installed this program from other source.
and second you need to put your localhost not only in the keygen but also in the installer.
So now I`m running this fine render
1-First of all you have to download ALL the files above. Don`t use the files that you have downloaded in other places. That will solve the problems of those who can`t patch the files because some of the files are missing: ?Can?t open pixar.license for writing, are you in the right directory?
2- Install pixar_renderman_studio 1.0.1(your version of maya).
When they ask you (Local host) go to programs=autodesk=common utilities=FlexLM. In the system settings tab copy the Computer\Hostname, go back to the installer and replace the (Local host) with you your Hostname. When the popup window appears just close it.
Don`t Reboot
3 Install renderman proserver 13.5.2 .Same as above, replace (Local Host) with your Hostname, also activate install Locally. When the popup window appears just close it.
Don`t Reboot
4 install pixar license 5.0.2 this time you don`t need to modify the local host

Why, Why can?t loaded the pixarRenderman into the Maya, i?am go crazy. i put localhost in the patch, a when i run pixarhostid in the cmd, it put “G****** 0***********” that is correct ? help me please becouse when put to patch cant loaded the renderman into tha maya neither.

And patch shader files in Shaders.rar into C:\Pixar\RenderManProServer-13.5.2\lib\shaders and
C:\Pixar\RenderMan-Studio-1.0.1-Maya\lib\shaders,
C:\Pixar\RenderMan-Studio-1.0.1-maya\rmantree\lib\shaders..
2.Apply Crack to ~
Rebooting ~
Environment Path
C:\Pixar\RenderMan-Studio-1.0.1-Maya\rmantree\bin;
C:\Pixar\RenderManProServer-13.5.2\bin;
Run Maya
Menu ->Window -> Settings/Preferences -> Plug-in Manager
check only RenderMan_for_Maya.mll..
That’s it..

im sure some one knows how to crack any of the above on a mac. the exe files or keygen dont work on a mac i tried to go to a pc to put in etc but it needs to be either in the file location c:/drive which a MAC OSX doesnt have

Uninstall Pixar_RenderMan_Studio_1.0.1-maya2008_i686.icc91.msi
Install Pixar_RenderMan_Studio_1.0.1-maya7.0_i686.icc81.msi , copy plugins directory from Pixar\RenderMan-Studio-1.0.1-Maya2008\lib
Uninstall it
Reboot
Install Pixar_RenderMan_Studio_1.0.1-maya2008_i686.icc91.msi
and replace plugins directory with the upper one.
Fur and hair will work for both mtor and renderman for maya

Just a good advise (it took 3-4 days from my life until I found the reason)
Some Antivrus and security programs may cause RfM a certain instability.
Eg. ESET NOD32 blocked sometimes my rendering thread. The first render always worked but further tries didnt.
So, teke care what u use for antivirus protection. In my case Rfm and Kaspersky in the hood works fine…..
Hi, anybody know why slim volume shader’s don’t work.
I connect volume fog to a nurbs go inside, put a new volumespot within, doFog and go on….as it is in tutorials…But renders only a white sphere…
Any advice are welcome!

Can someone please give instructions on how to crack renderman 2.0 for maya 8.5 on Mac OSX?
crack installation info:
DO NOT REBOOT YOUR MACHINE BEFORE YOU FINISHED THE WHOLE INSTALLATION PROCESS
1. Install license server, RPS 13.5.2 and RMS 1.01 for Maya 7.0, 8.5 or 2008.
(You will have a Window popping out asking to enter some informations to get your license, just close that window)
2. Put the license gen/patcher in your c:\Program Files\Pixar or whereever it was installed.
3. Run the license gen and patcher. Be sure none of the pixar programs are running (or they won?t be patched)
4. Copy the cracked PixarLicenseServer.exe to the license-5.0.2 directory.
5. Copy pixar.license from license-5.0.2 to RMS1.0.1/rmantree/etc
6. Reboot

My first problem was because I have installed this program from other source.
and second you need to put your localhost not only in the keygen but also in the installer.
So now I`m running this fine render
1-First of all you have to download ALL the files above. Don`t use the files that you have downloaded in other places. That will solve the problems of those who can`t patch the files because some of the files are missing: ?Can?t open pixar.license for writing, are you in the right directory?
2- Install pixar_renderman_studio 1.0.1(your version of maya).
When they ask you (Local host) go to programs=autodesk=common utilities=FlexLM. In the system settings tab copy the Computer\Hostname, go back to the installer and replace the (Local host) with you your Hostname. When the popup window appears just close it.
Don`t Reboot
3 Install renderman proserver 13.5.2 .Same as above, replace (Local Host) with your Hostname, also activate install Locally. When the popup window appears just close it.
Don`t Reboot
4 install pixar license 5.0.2 this time you don`t need to modify the local host

Copy pixar.license from C:\Program Files\Pixar\license-5.0.2 to C:\Program files\Pixar\RenderMan-Studio-1.0.1-(your version of maya)\rmantree\etc
Reboot
Start manually the plugin inside maya: windows settings preferences plugin manayer.
