  1. Thanks Tranceus for the nice tut.
But it freeze Max2011 at startup here.

    Phil

  2. well PhilCoraz if it freezes then there might be two problems, you are doing something wrong or your computer has something wrong. I have rendered full scenes now with out a problem at all, and it has never frozen on me so check things better, maybe you might need some other soft like directx or netframework updates or so, or it might just be that your VUE8 installation is corrupted, hope you can get it working right because its a good tool to use

  3. In my case Vue 8 had already installed before I installed max 2011. So is it necessary to reinstall Vue? or any other way to do that? Please help me. because vue and max together give very impressive result. By the way I am using windows 7

    • Yes dEB you have to reinstall Vu8 but this time redirected to the max 2011 and then follow the steps here, and if your are using vray I have also posted something for that.Dont worry after the intallation you will be able to still use the one in your max2010 if you want.
PS is you have in lot of stuff in the VUE library and dont want to have to reinstall that then rename the e-on software folder to something like e-on software_BK and reinstall once done delete the new folder and change this one back to its original name.
      Hope things work

  5. Hi, I have a problem,
I’ve done everything like you wrote, but, when I open Max I get this Mental Ray error in mantal ray masse window:
    “MI 0.0 error 121001: .\shaders_3rdparty\mentalray\3rdparty.mi, line 17: syntax error”

    Any ideas?

      • I found a solution to this problem, finally,

its on http://forum.cgpersia.com/f32/3ds-max-2011-vue-8-xstream-vray-1-5-sp4a-10598/ and there is a link from arkimote09 which gives you all the files and their locations. Just ignore the Vray stuff

  6. Hey,
As far as i can tell I followed all your instructions word for word but I got the same message as oskario20. Any thoughts would be appreciated aswell.
