  1. and…. how to install VUE 8 on max 2011 ? in instalation of VUE there is only max 2010 version to choose :(

  2. Well to install VUE8 into Max2011 just do the ordinary install when it gets to that part where to install just change the directory to 2011 in other words chose the 2010 installation but than where you see the directories it will install just change that 2010 to 2011 thats it it will install no problem

  3. This is not a DOWNLOAD this are instructions to do when you have this products already if any go to

  4. Hi,

Is there any one could tellme if it is “normal” to have ONE image to render on vue8 stream and have to wait an eternal 3 hours 54 mins render?

    image: Cloud shadow sample of the software;
render settings: 1920×817 px, png format, render off screen.
    render time: 3 hours 54 mins ;
    On, Windows 7 x64, pentimum Dual Core, E5400 @ 2.70 GHz, 4 Gb RAM

can someone givme some advice to a faster render?

    thanx

    • That would definitely be your processor. Pentium 4 is old and bad, and you need a new processor if you want to render quickly. I have a quad core 2.00Ghz in my laptop, and can render files in 15 minutes at 2880×1000 at superior settings.
      Time to upgrade mate.

  5. Hi, I have installed vue 8 on my PC, than I wanted to install plugin for max design 2011 but there was a problem during installation, that it could not find the mental ray folder…I tried to install whitout that compatibility option, but now if I render Vue scene trough MR, there is nothing…could you help me please? maybe I did something wrong during install, or could it be something else? thanks

    • Well Martin Like I said since the beginning max 2011 its like when we all went from XP tO vista so folder change there structure. So now for Mental Ray its also different I will try to step by step.
Well now max2010 used to intall this in a folder called mentalray in the max main folder. Now in max 2011 since mentalmill has been incorporated into max2011 then now that folder is called mentalimages.
The VUE8 intallation might have created mentalray folder since it did not find one and place what it had to there.
So this is what you do.
      1. get to that mental ray folder that vue created in the main max2011 folder open
2.open also the mentalimages folder side to side.
3.on mentalimages folder go to shaders_3rdparty folder, then to mentalray folder, now here is what you would find in the old max2010 folder so then this is where all the things on the mentalray folder from the max2010 structure go.
4.go to that mental ray folder in step 1 and you will se that now that it looks the same as the open inside the mentalimages folder.
      5. Go through every forder and transfer any vue file to the its corresponding folder in the one in the mentalimages folder.
      6. Now the 3rdparty.mi in the mentalimages/shaders_3rdparty/mentalray
folder open and here we edit what vue8 try to due in the installation
7.open 3rdparty.mi in notepad and this how it looks, and as you can see I now just added a 2 vue8 links. add this two lines the same way you see here and save the fine.
Now guess what your done close everything fire up max2011 and happy renders in mental ray.

      # mi “base.mi”

      link “Vue7xStream.dll”
      mi “Vue7xStream.mi”
      end registry

  6. Once you have done all this close all and fire up Max2011 and render
    Happy renders

  7. WELL IF YOU DONT WHAT MORE CRAZYNESS WITH VUE8 WAIT FOR OR BUY THE VUE 8.5 RELEASE IT TAKES CARE OF THIS ALREADY. SORRY I CANT SHARE MY VERSION I ACTUALLY PAYFOR IT AND I HAVE NO CRACK FOR IT SO I GUESS WAIT TILL IS DONE BUT IF NOT THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO BE ABLE TO USE VUE IN MAX2011

    • You can just share vue 8.5 only we do not need “your” key, crack IS FOR 8.X SO 8.5 will work with it

If you do not want to share it and write only to show off do not write anything

  8. lautremont thats normal yea. currently rendering one frame at more than 20 hours, depends on ur displacement and light settings doesnt it. 12gb ram i7 gtx285.

  9. Thank you deshu,, and yes READ THE POST FIRST than thank me or so and then render like crazy

  10. Hi Tranceus, thanks for your helping. but there is one more problem to solve. I ve both Max 2010 & 2011 version installed. Is it possible to use Vue within the both version at the same time? Please help me if there is any way to do that. Thanks.

    • Well deB as far as I know yes you can as max is only calling instances or pulling information from the vue8 code, I dont know why you would want to do this anyway but yeah I have try it seams to work, I actually have rendered both at the same time and no problems, but do make sure you do have a CPU that can take the power this needs or it will crash for insufficient resources

  11. This does not work on my system. Always returns an ‘Error loading DLLs’ for the Vue7xStream.dlr no matter which folder it is in.

  12. Managed to get vue 8.4 to run on max 2011 wich is something already..Renders fine with Mental Ray but I have a problem getting it to work with Vray1.50sp5 I get the following error:

    vrayplugins\Vue7xStream.dlr> failed to initialize.
Error code 126 – the specified module could not be found.

I tried moving the .dlr to the plugins folder like stated in the first post but doesnt work, just changes the directory the error occurs in..Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • Greetings, mortals! If you get massage like “Error code 126”, you need to download proper Vue7xStream.dlr (715kb) here:
      http://rapidshare.com/files/385585515/vrayrt_and_vue8_vray15sp5_for_max2011_x64.rar
And replace old 681kb file with new one.

It runs great on win7+3ds max 2011 64-bit+vray 1.5sp5+vue 8.4 (build 49622). Build 50247 crashes max due opening vue project.

      Enjoy

      • Greetings,
        I have: Vray 1.5 SP5, 3Ds Max 2011 and Vue 8.5.
This files: Vue7xStream.dlr (715kb) and vray_rtmax2010.dlr – does not work.

        “vrayplugins\vray_rtmax2010.dlr> failed to initialize.
Error code 126 ? the specified module could not be found.”

        “vrayplugins\Vue7xStream.dlr> failed to initialize.
Error code 126 ? the specified module could not be found.”

  13. Hi!
I’m using 3D max 2010 and Vue 8. I have tried rendering a scene using vray but the result is black. Do you know the how to setup the vray in order for it to render in 3D max 2010? Also I have tried rendering with the use of the default rendering engine by 3D max with some plants by Vue 8 on the scene but when it was done I cant find any of the Vue 8 material in the finished render. I could use some help here guys.

    • to Will:

  20. Hi all. I have Max 2010 with VRay 2.0 and Vue 8 installed. In Max, when I try to render using Vray, it only renders black empty screen. I relocated the Vue7xStream.dlr file to the plugins folder, but have the same results. I can render using mentalray, but cannot use vray materials. Thank you for help.

  21. Gentlemen,

Vue 9 xStream is compatible with VRay 2.0 and 1.5 since January 4, 2011.

Installation instructions are listed on the upgrade page. Here they are again, in case you missed them:

    —————————————————————————————–

    Standalone xStream Plugins Installer

Starting from update 9.0 Build 9005575, Vue 9 xStream is compatible with VRay 2 for 3ds Max. In order to use the xStream plugins for this new renderer, you need to install them using the installer below.

    Plugins Installer – Windows Version – Version 9.0 – Build 9005575 (52.1 MB)

    Plugins Installer – Mac Version – Version 9.0 – Build 9005575 (31.3 MB)

Simply execute it to begin the installation of the plugins. The installation process will be similar to the one you already went through when you installed Vue 9 xStream.

If the latest Vue update has a build number higher than the standalone plugin installer, you will have to apply the Vue update again after installing the plugins, to make sure both the plugins and the Vue core version have a similar build #.

  22. 3d max 2011, vray 2.0, vue 9 xtream and updates intelled succesfully and it dosen?t work. What can I do?
