  1. I don’t want to be rude, but my goodness – it appears to be one of the most awful female sculpts i’ve seen for a very long time. Ugly, and anatomical incorrect. Have not picked the tutorail (neither purchased it), but basing on the promo image I highly NOT recommend to waste 2hrs for this.

  2. @Ingram
Bashing DT is not only unproblematic but I feel like it’s even necessary. They produce almost in exclusivity low-quality learning material – high on quantity, low on quality.

Yes, that 3d model looks horrendous, you don’t have to be Michelangelo to see from that picture that her arms are so short and wonky.

I think they started hiring beginners to do their tutorials and they’re probably paying peanuts.

    • Yeah, Digital Tutors is minimalistic learning from minimalistic lessons, showing you a lot of things people are sharing for free on YouTube, generally.

I find that the more heavy-duty lessons come from smaller producers who choose their teachers more selectively, offering carefully-produced lessons you won’t find much elsewhere, each available as separate purchases rather than en masse-production of a bunch of low-rate tutorials at a subscription fee.

  3. You guy’s are right :/

That’s why i’m searching for good tutorials from sites like Gnomon Workshop (i heard, that they are very good).

Of Course, if someone have invitation for cgpeers and can give one to random person, i would very appreciate it :)

    My email: zernatpl@gmail.com

    Thanks and cheers.

    • Because the user limit has been reached, I’m not unable to send invites at this time. But when it comes, I’ll send you an invitation.

?_? Just don’t screw it up for both of us… if you somehow get banned, we both get booted.

??? Just seed, man! Seed like a mad fool!

^_^ …But anyway, until then, just hang on until they let us start giving invitations again.

  4. I understand, thanks :)

I have pretty speed internet connections and my computer usually run 16 – 18h per day (or 2-3 days in row) so don’t worry :)

Cheers and thanks. I will be waiting.

    • Yep. I’ll keep this page bookmarked to remember this situation. As soon as this ends:

      I’ll be back.

      • I got my account today, you don’t have to send me invitation. Thanks you for your kindness :)

        Thanks and Cheers !

        • Dude, hurry–the CGPeers registration is open for 48 hours! ??? Hurry!!!

    “… anatomical incorrect.”

The promo image is strange looking as a result of foreshortening. The actual model is probably not anatomically incorrect.

Also, you miss the point of these tutorials. These projects are not intended to be perfect. That would require many more days even weeks of refinement. They are designed to provide an overview of the process to create digital art work, so the user get into the process rather quickly, and he or she can start making things in the program.

Other companies like Gnomon are less specific with there instruction. They expect you to know the program before hand. Digital Tutors tutorials are much more thorough, and they assume the student knows very little about the process and the software.

Finally, it seems like most of the people involved with Digital Tutors work in the industry, and they have websites demonstrating more refined work. Therefore, they are usually pretty knowledgeable about the fields they are teaching. They are just choosing projects and teaching styles that make things easier to understand.

By the way Ingram, how is your comment not rude? I believe calling someones work “… the most awful female sculpts i?ve seen” is sort of rude. Also, you have not even watched the tutorial, and you are getting the thing for free. Maybe you should watch it and see if it is any good.
