  1. exactly what i wanted to say. same as composite map. but i was watching other plugins from that site. seems to me there are some more usefull stuff worth cracking

  2. Man, too much plugins for Max. I think there are more plugins than the other oranges in Florida. No wonder Autodesk doesn’t have huge updates anymore. If one of these days I no longer have my plugins, I will not know what to do in Max.

    • As a Maya user, I have to say you Max guys have it very, very easy, as you can easily create miraculous images with a few plugins, but everyone else has to sweat their asses off to get just a decent image.

      • I think you’re referring to C4D users, not Max users. Sure there are a lot of plugins and scripts that add extra bonus to using Max but nothing is even close to preset. Tell that to a Rayfire, FumeFX or even Unwrella user. I’ve found Max to be better for modelling whereas Maya is better for animation.

I’m glad they decided to teach us Max at school, thousands of plugins and even more tutorials. The possibilities are endless.

      • A lot of what you see in the movies and TV was done using Maya….so your point makes no sense.

        Thanx for this plugin BTW!
I use max 9 more often (because of other plugin capabilty)even though I have max 2011.

  3. rolo, what plugins do you use? This would help me cos I’m looking into optimising my workflow.

    • look into Unwrella, it does about 80% of the work for you but depending on your model, don’t expect to finish breaking & stitching the pieces back together very soon.

Use the SigerShaders Mats for MR and Vray, that’ll help. Also try learning Rayfire, very good but VERY much based on real-world physics. Learn FumeFX as well and combine that with Pflow in Max.

And if you’re a modeller, invest in a 3D Mouse. ( I have the space navigator). You will pray to me as your god once you buy that thing =p.

  4. I think is plugin is only for users of older versions of Max… :) Composite material wasn’t always around, especially not back in versions 8 and stuff… 3DS Max 2009+ introduced new composite materials that helped you do this thing without an addon.
