Is it stand-alone or plugin?
Since houdini talks to the internet all the time, will you have to activate the keygen everytime you open it? Has anyone tried this before, and does it work flawlessly? I have the free apprentice edition, but i would like to fully use the real houdini11 so that i can export geometry in obj. format so i can use it in other programs that i need to use for school. I know that you cant do anything like that with the apprentice edition. Im just curious if there are any known issues with this.
Just deny any connection of Houdini. I’m using Little Snitch on a Mac, its the best method to do that.
Here is a better documentation how to install in a Mac:
1. Install Houdini 11
(Do not start Houdini)
2. In the directory: Applications/Houdini[version] -> open “Houdini Shell.terminal”
3. Type in the Shell.terminal:
sudo -s
-hit enter-
4. Enter your administrator password when prompted and hit return
5. type this code into terminal to get the server informations:
sesictrl -n
-hit enter-
have to look like this:
‘The server code for “Name.local” is:
SERVER Name.local 1234a56b’
6. Select the response and copy it into a blank text document
7. Now type the following code to shut down the license server:
sesictrl -q
-hit enter-
8. Open the keygenerator
9. Enter the server name (“Name.local”) and server number (“1234a56b”) into the geygen. Click ‘generate code’
10. Select and copy all of the text from the list of the 2 generated code fields into a text document, you will need it later
11. Type in termina:
sesictrl -q
-hit enter-
12. Now type in terminal:
cp (after cp make a freespace and don’t hit enter this time)
13. In the Crack folder you find the file: “sesinetd” drag it in the terminal window;
14. Now search for “/Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/[version]/Resourceces/houdini/sbin/” and drag the file “sesinetd” in the terminal too and hit enter
13. Type following code in terminal:
cd /Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/Versions/[version]/Resourceshoudini/sbin/
-hit enter-
14. Type in terminal:
chmod 755 sesinetd
-hit enter-
cd /Library/sesi/
-hit enter-
rm -f *
-hit enter-
15. Restart your Mac and empty trash as soon as your computer starts up
16. Launch “License Administrator.app ” (/Applicatios/houdini [Version/Administrative Tools/]); you should have a red dot with an X showing
17. Choose menu ‘file’ then choose ‘manually enter keys?’ and copy the 1st key of the earlier generated keys and paste it in the License Administrator
18. Start Houdini; if you can’t see any icons -. reinstall X11

hey i am running in a stupid problem here…
There is no .osx keygen in the crack folder…
there are only .exe and a linux file.
how can i open those or is there simply a different way to get the keygen?

i have been cool installing other softwares, but i feel extremely funny about doing it to houdini. Ive been asked more than a couple of times to verify my licence with them and i have the 100% free apprentice version. I just want to know if any one has successful installed on a win7 64 bit machine with zero problems. Ive been learning alot about houdini everyday, and i just dont want to halt my progress in any way.
Something is messed up – server license is installed without any problems but any oters results in install error – invalid license key specified, key installation failed.

i’ve any problems : Houdini -Non Commercial and FBX is not working , what can i do anyone tell me samething
Anyone had it work on a Mac? There is only windows or linuX keygens in the package…

By the way, this version works on OSX lion?
I’ve done everything correctly but when i launch “License Administrator.app” it searches for a second and then the app closes.
Because i didn’t knew what was going on i started Houdini and i got this error: Houdini Error – Fatal Error: data saved to /tmp/Mitchell.9.9.hip.
Can somebody help me with this???
