  4. Unsuccessful on 3DStudio 2011 x64 Design / Windows 7 x64: installs fine & renders fine untill the render progress indicator window hangs at the end of the rendering process, crashing 3DS at that point.

    Installed, reinstalled, etc… no success. Succesfully reverted back to fRender R3 SP2.

  5. More on this:
    – fR R3.5 works fine AS LONG AS IT IS NOT THE DEFAULT RENDER ENGINE FOR SCENCES/MAXSTART FILE.

    When loading 3DS with a maxstart file which has fR R3.5 as default render engine, it crashes 3DS.

    When loading the same maxstart file by opening the file itself, fR R3.5 works fine from the start.

    When loading 3DS with a maxstart file which has a different default engine, and then switching to fR R3.5, it works fine.

    I suppose this is a Cebas issue, since fR R3.5 works fine except in a very specific case. fR R3 SP2 works fine in all cases.

    I’ve got problems as well. With max 2011 x64 on a Windows 7 x64 System. Max hangs on start. After a few seconds even Windows hangs.
    After a reboot max starts, but FR doesn’t seem to be installed correctly. There is no FR in the Renderer Selection.
    After some playing around I reverted to FR v3 SP3 like ID did.

  8. About fR not being installed corrctly, not appearing in the render engines list, etc… Cebas installation is a mess by defult. It is known to put entries meant to go into plugins.ini or plugcfg, or it’s own main files into quite random directories at times.

    In my case – I rewire all Cebas plugins manually after install, putting it all into correct directories and editing the appropriate files so that it all matches and makes more sense. It works.

    In case of fR R3.5 there’s something strange thou. If you have a look into the cebas_plugins.ini entries, this time they are doubled: finalRender R3 / finalRender R3.5, etc… So – it was a messy installation before, and it seems it is even more messy now, which may be the cause for these problems.

    Did someone actually manage to make it work on 3DS 2011 x64 Design?
    And @twoheart: would you mind telling where did you get fR R3 SP3? I’ve only seen SP2 for 3DS so far. Thanks.

  9. Am i correct that this SE means StudioEdition?
    Because many shadars dont work, like ghost terrain, electron etc.
