In this ZBrush tutorial we will cover the human body from head to toe, learning the most important aspects of anatomy as they relate to figurative art.Using French academic artist Jean-Joseph Perraud’s work as our study guide, we will virtually dissect the human form, breaking our work into distinct sections of the body. Starting with 2D ecorche lectures, then moving into 3D to further discuss and illuminate the information.By the end, with diligent study this course will provide you with a strong foundation in the human figure that you can apply to your work. The knowledge gained in this series of tutorials can also be useful for comparative anatomy, creature design, and other design work.

In this series of tutorials we will learn how to create a mechanical rig for 3D visualizations in 3ds Max.

We will begin from the concept of the crane, explaining the different parts and how a crane works. Next, we will introduce the rigging tools used, and the limitations of the setup that a real crane
has, all in 3ds Max. We will then model and texture every main part of the crane separately and assemble it all into a new scene ready to be rigged and refined.

Finally, we will test out our rig with an animation and render it as a preview.

What you will learn

In this series of tutorials we will composite a shimmering fractal reveal in After Effects utilizing assets generated in Maya.We will be matchmoving a live action plate and creating proxy geometry of the scene in Maya. We will then export the geometry as OBJ assets and assemble them in After Effects. We will animate a fractal pattern to act as a matte for our transition and apply that to our 3D geometry using the Element 3D plug-in. To create vibrant glows we will be using plugins such as Radium, Sapphire, and Starglow whilst taking advantage of linear color-space to achieve the best results possible.

In the final volume of the Quick Start to Modeling in Maya, we’ll build on the concepts covered in
all of the previous volumes.

We’ve built small hard-surface props and set pieces, but in this volume we’ll build an entire character. We’ll use what we’ve learned to this point to block in the different parts of the character and make sure they all fit together well. We’ll discuss character specific topics like animation-ready topology. We’ll use reference images in our scenes and talk about building organic shapes, in addition to the hard surface pieces. We will learn to model efficiently by only creating necessary detail and then mirroring it over.

This project will be a longer process than previous volumes, but the tools and workflow you’ll use will enable you to begin creating your own characters immediately. These courses are designed to be taken in sequence so we really encourage you to start with the first four volumes before continuing with this section.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the assignments that follow each volume. These assignments will allow you to take what you’ve learned and apply those tools and techniques to your own projects.

In this series of tutorials, you’ll learn how to create a material cost estimation report using Schedules in Revit 2014. We’ll begin by exploring how to create a cost Schedule for the steel in our design. We’ll learn how to create custom formulas that will allow Revit to generate a cost for material using units and calculations which may be specific to that material’s properties. From there we’ll apply this same process to figure out the cost of doors, windows and even concrete. And finally after we’ve generated our totals, you will see how to easily customize the format and appearance of your Schedules. Once you’ve become comfortable with the concepts in this course, you’ll be generating cost Schedules of your own in no time.
